Description

Holmlea is situated 30 metres from the beautiful and unspoilt River Deben estuary in the small Suffolk village of Waldringfield.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and has been stylishly renovated to an exceptionally high standard, providing a charming blend of character features with a contemporary feel. A spacious kitchen and dining area with underfloor heating is complemented by a quiet study area leading onto a snug with a log fire. A double set of french windows leads on to a sunny garden with table and chairs.

Holmlea lies in the heart of a friendly Suffolk village, focused around yachting and boating activities, walks along an unspoilt river, a popular pub/restaurant, sandy beach with picturesque beach huts and scenic waterfront that is accesible without crossing a road.

Recreational facilities in the village include an 18 hole golf course, tennis court and two children’s parks. Waldringfield is a safe environment and access to the waterfront from Holmlea does not require crossing a road.

The charming market town of Woodbridge is 5 miles away.

“Ideal for a tranquil holiday in Suffolk”

We found Holmlea to be an extremely comfortable well equipped house. Spotlessly clean, we really could not fault a thing, it definitely lived up to or even exceeded all our expectations. Everything needed for a great holiday is there with lots of interesting places to visit locally. The house is in a perfect position, the river Deben with a beach and lots of boats is just a short walk from the house. The nearby Maybush Inn is worth a visit with excellent views of the river from their terrace. We would certainly recommend Holmlea a real family home from home.

We stayed at Holmlea for a long weekend and were very pleased. Having booked this place last minute due to our previous accommodation falling through, we couldnt have been happier that it did. The house is lovely with and we loved the big open plan kitchen with the doors out to the garden - it was perfect to enjoy the sunny weekend. The house is well equipped and the location is great, only a few doors down from the local pub the Maybush which is fantastic and with great views over the river. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return ourselves if we are in the area again!

We had a month stay Jan/Feb 2013 at Homlea and it was all we wanted and more. Great location next to The Maybush too. Harry was really helpful when we had a problem with the heating and sorted out a plumber straight away even though he was away on holiday abroad at the time, unfortunately our granddaughter broke a blanket hamper while on a visit to us but Harry did not deduct anything for this from our breakages deposit :) The house was warm and comfortable during a very cold and snowy period of the year too. If I could find any negatives it would be to have a bigger tv but thats probably because we had a long time there during the winter so watched more tv than normal and the beds were rather too hard for us but some people like very hard beds so thats a matter of preference.
