Near Walden Head the valley sides become steep and craggy on the flanks of Naughtbury Hill to the north and Brown Haw to the south narrowing the valley as it pierces the slopes of Buckden Pike. Here, where the meadows are squeezed against Walden Beck are four outlying houses one being Grange House, a former farmhouse, set in three acres of its own pastureland.

The main entrance at the side opens to a hallway with cloakroom facility and adjacent fully tiled shower room with washbasin and toilet. Off the hallway is a fully fitted kitchen with all that is needed for family catering including an oil-fired 'Aga' as well as an electric oven and a small breakfast table for those late or early risers. Through the kitchen is a spacious lounge with a multi-fuel stove and lovely views to the grounds and hillsides. There is also a twin room and a single room with adjacent house bathroom with elegant roll top bath, washbasin and toilet.

The rear garden and extensive grounds, with stream and ornamental pond, can be reached from the kitchen, the front garden or by a separate gated entrance from the road which also provides extra parking. To the rear of the property is an external utility room with full washing and drying facilities, entered from the garden and shared with the owner.

The house is spacious and quite enchanting with a splendid mix of traditional and modern with delights at every turn. Exposed beams, ledged doors, wall panelling, tiles, decorative wallpapers, antique and contemporary furniture all to be enjoyed and that's just the inside. The gardens and grounds are extensive tranquil and close to nature with peace and freedom in every breath. This is a true hideaway home to be enjoyed by all who enter in.

Please note short breaks/flexible changeovers at any time of year.

A heating supplement of £40.00 per week will be charged from 30 October 2015 until 25 March 2016 and from 28 October 2016 until 7 January 2017. For short winter breaks the charge will be £7.00 per night.

Not titled 'dale' but a small picturesque dale non the less, at its head, the towering Buckden Pike, limiting access to neighbouring Wharfedale to only bridleways and footpaths, and at its foot the acclaimed village of West Burton sitting at the juncture of Walden, Bishopdale and Wensleydale. There is no village, only farms and houses scattered on the hillsides amid woodland and tree lined meadows that rise from the bubbling Walden Beck to the open, heather topped fellsides above. The valley gently twists and turns shyly revealing more of its charm with every bend. A truly upland dale of small proportions but with immense character and deep tranquillity.
