Very Good

“Excellent Choice”

Reviewed 25 Feb 2012

This is our second visit to this wonderful detached chalet. It is a good choice of accommodation for either a winter ski holiday or a summer holiday as we have done both and will definitely be booking again. The chalet itself is extremely comfortable with everything you need at hand, but what makes it so special is the personal touches that the owners have put in place, making it feel more like a home than a rental property. There is lovely crisp bedding and an abundance of towels and two shower rooms. The chalet is lovely and warm with plenty of space to relax. Upstairs has a double bedroom with two large beds and plenty of hanging space, an entrance hallway for coats and boots, even slippers are provided. There is a shower room and lounge and well equipped kitchen diner. Comfortable, with lots of light, with a nice little side garden. Leading from the hallway, down the beautiful wooden spiral staircase is another hallway, through a door to another kitchenette with cooking facilities, microwave and a two seater dining area. The bedroom downstairs is particularly large and has its own tv. There is shower room and through another little lobby there is access to outside and the large bootroom/laundry room. Again fully equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board. Lots of space and nice and warm. There is also a designated parking space. A bonus is the the swimming pool next door (2 hours free daily for visitors to the chalet) and it also has a spacious sauna suite (adults only) - small discounted charge for visitors from the chalet. Wagrain is a pretty village with close proximity to both ski lifts. In the Summer, the gondolas also operate on a daily basis, each mountain on an alternate day. There are mountain bike trails, trim trails and lots of breathtaking walks. Salzburg is a short drive away (approx. 50 mins) and there are also plenty of other areas of interest to visit in close proximity - a must being the ice cave. Easy cheapish Ryannair flights from Stanstead to Salzburg with a number of options on travel to Wagrain. Alternatively, fly to Munich, where we have found flights and car hire are cheaper and are approximately a 3 hour drive away.

“Fantastic chalet.”

This lovely little house is deceptively big, as half of it is in the basement and therefore not visible. We stayed over the Christmas period and we arrived to a lovely Christmas decorated house. The interior is new and very well kept, it is very tastefully decorated and feels really homely. The kitchen is quite small, but has everything you need. There were lots of DVDs to watch, WIFI, and an extra TV in the downstairs bedroom. The chalet could be used as two self contained flats as the basement had a small kitchen as well. The boot room was accessible both from the basement and from outside. It was lovely and warm and dried our clothes and boots overnight. There is a small garden accessible from the door in the lounge. A 15 minute walk takes you into the centre of Wagrain. There is a large "Spar," a "Billa," some gift shops, a sport shop, and a bakery. We often used the surprisingly well stocked smaller "Spar" just 5 minutes down the road from the chalet. The chalet is mid between the two major ski lifts, and the bus stop is a few metres up the road. The swimming complex is next door to the property, and guests of the house are allowed a free two hour swim every day, which just added to our holiday. This property has it all, and we would very much like to return and also visit in the Summer, there is so much to do.

“So Brilliant we have booked again”

Chalet modern warm and comfortable with charm. Has everything that you could need to have an excelent stay whether you are going to cook for yourself or go out and enjoy the local restuarants. Wagrain is full of charm and has very good access to slopes (offering different levels of skills for more experienced skiers - we were total newbies). Locals were very helpful and encouraging. Excellent amenities locally - shops restuarants and leisure centre all in walking distance. Great area for all out door activities - obviously skiing (buses take you to all the local slopes or you can walk as they are really close by), the leisure centre offered a good choice and we saw others enjoying paracending, ice skating, snow boarding, walking and the views are to kill for. Brilliant activities choice - and of course there are the sites to visit locally as well. too much to do in such a short time.
