“This rental property more than came up to our expectations.”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2014

I booked this rental as a Christmas present for my children and their partners and one year old and two dogs, and it was exactly what we had hoped for. Everything we needed was provided, even the dogs were provided for. Sleeping accommodation was full of character, there was an area for all to lounge about and a dining kitchen which provided for us all to sit around a long wooden table. The open countryside around was lovely, with lots of available walking. I would recommend this rental 100%.

“Lovely setting and beautifully decorated”

A lovely, spacious and welcoming barn conversion, incorporating many original features but fitted out with all mod cons and lovely furnishings. An excellet location for visiting the beautiful Golden Valley, with Hay on Wye and the Brecon Beacons not far away. Easy walkng also straight from the door. Owners very friendly without being intrusive and left us welcome gifts of cake and pickles, which were delicious. Wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy it more fully.

“A simply special place for chilling out with family and freinds”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2013

This is a newly converted barn of the highest standard. Obviously a labour of love - the build quality and design, the fittings and ingenious use of recycled materials. Our stay was totally stress free and easy - everything is provided including many small touches (homemade cake and jam that nobody could resist and a wonderful collection of books, films and local interest finds). The location is ideal for walking, visiting Hay, the farmers markets, going to the local pubs etc. The garden is very safe for children and overlooks beautiful countryside. If the weather is nice you'll be eating all your meals outside. Inside the kitchen table is a magnet and we spent most of our time sitting there. For us Cothill Barn was about total relaxation with our family and friends. Cooking together, finding a quiet reading corner or sinking into one of the deep baths with a glass of wine. We highly recommend it!

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your kind review and for leaving the Barn so clean and tidy. We've had a great time refurbishing it and are enjoying sharing it with guests. For those who find stairs difficult, it is great to have a couple of downstairs bedrooms - especially the one with patio doors to the garden. Hope to see you again in the future. Rob & Ali
