“Comfortable and Convenient”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2013

We stayed at Gite Glycine in May and had a very good stay. There were 7 of us, including a 2 yr old. The weather was not great, so we did not get to enjoy the barbeque etc, but there were enough games and DVDs in the Gite to keep everyone busy. The property is very comfortable, rooms are a good size and the owners went out of their way to make sure we were settled in. As the weather was not good when we arrived, very cold for the time of year, but the owners made sure we had enough portable heaters for the evenings. The location is ideal for a lot of the attractions in the area. Lots of places to visit very close by. We would definitely go back.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review, We are so pleased you found the gite comfortable and that we were able to help you settle in. Really sorry the weather wasn't kind to you. Our best wishes,

“Breathtaking, relaxing, and all around fantastic vacation for my family of 4!”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2013

I was just reminiscing about our family visit! This holiday season, the kids asked when we could go back! We all enjoyed our stay so much, I am eagerly anticipating booking again! Every day we would get out walking around, doing a bit of sight seeing, dining at the local cafe and just enjoying every moment spent with the children! We were so pleased with the accommodations! Spacious, very well maintained, updated and clean! We couldn't have asked for a better experience! If you are looking for a great vacation where you can spend quality time with your loved ones, then look no further, this is the place! For those that may want to get out a bit further to explore more, I would recommend a car, although it is not needed to enjoy your time at this gorgeous place!

Owner's reply: What a lovely review. Thank you so much and we're so happy everything was great for you and your family. Best wishes, Jackie and Sally

“BRILLIANT HOLIDAY CAN'T WAIT TO REBOOK”

Reviewed 30 Nov 2012

We couldn't believe, what a location could not have been better. On arrival we were greeted with our welcome pack, which was great as we arrived late in the evening, when most things were closed. 1.Close to Sarlat within 10 mins 2.Within easy reach of the river beach and snack/bar. 3.Accomodation everything we need to hand 4.Brilliant BQ outside area. 5.Lovely walled garden All in all we had a fantastic time in Vitrac, I would recomend this Gite it was very clean, and good basic it delivered what it said on the label. The area itself was out of this world so much to see and do.

Owner's reply: Than you very much for your review. We wold love to welcome you back. Sally and Jackie

“BEST TIME EVER CENTRAL TO ALL AMENITIES AND ATTRACTIONS”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2012

The Gite was comfortable the facilities were all that we needed, it was comfortable relaxing the facilities provided were very adequate. It suited our family needs . The location was very central to every where we were in less than 10 mins to Sarlat there were some fab resteraunts. The beach at vitrac was a short walk away the kids loved the canoes. We managed 3 trips on the river and picnics along the way. There was a fantastic beach barand resteraunts at the sed of the river. Which we found fab.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. Glad you found the gite and the area good, and restaurants too. Regards, Sally

“Do not stay at this property!”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2012

Just a few points: 1. This property is at least 2.5 hours from Limoges airport and not 'approx 1 hr' as the owners state. 2. The Dordogne river is not 'a stones throw' away but a 10 to 15 minute walk. 3. The kitchen is in a terrible state from the condition of the work tops to the filthy stained floor. 4. The outside space is an overgrown, unkempt area of gravel that has a clear view of the main road which is only a few metres on the house. 5. There isn't any English tv at all and the "extensive DVD collection" we were told about consisted of 4 dvd's including The History of Scotland! I could go on be I simply can't be bothered. We have been using Holiday Lettings for many years and this is the worst and most mis represented property we have ever stayed in.

Owner's reply: Thank your your review, Just to go through your points. The Limoges airport is around 1 hour 40 although we have done it in 1hour 30 mins. The river is as other guests have review about 5 to 7 mins stroll away i can only wonder that you turned left into Cenac beach which would be around 15 mins walk. The kitchen has been replaced with a new fitted kitchen and the tiled floor (which were beautiful but very old original tiles) have also been replaced. The outside garden has been revamped and is now flowers and trees. The tv has now an extensive library of up to date TV shows and Up to date movies more than 50. So sorry our gite at that time wasn't as you'd expected but can assure it would be now. Sally

WHAT A FANTASTIC PLACE AND EASY ACCESS TO SO MANY WONDERFUL PLACES, PERFECTLY POSITIONED................ Just a quick thank you for the great time we spent at your holiday home in the Vitrac, We found it comfortable, clean, well equipped and surprisingly spacious. We had a fab time. If we were to have any negative it would be that it was just a little hot for us in July, oh and thank you so much for the welcome pack it was perfect as we arrived through the night. Thanks Rich and Stephanie (US)

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed gite and your holiday. Many thanks, Sally
