This beautiful, fortified, small chateau/manor house constructed between the 15th and 18th Centuries is situated at the end of a long private drive on the edge of a limestone plateau in a private, natural and tranquil setting of 50 acres of woods and meadows with panoramic views overlooking chateaux and bastides with magnifent views of Penne d'Agenais (especially at night).It has beautiful architectural elements which include a spiral stone staircase, vaulted stone dining room, meurtrieres (loophole windows), mullion windows, four poster beds, French billiard table, ping pong table, terrace with view and a high security swimming pool (10m x 5m) with Roman style steps.

The Aquitaine region
The Manoir of La Rouquette is situated a few kilometres from the River Lot at Penne d'Agenais in the region of the Valley of the Lot. There are many other manoirs and chateaux in the region which are open to the public, including Bonaguil, Biron, Duras, as well as fortified medieval villages of Monpazier, Pujols, St Pastour, Monflanquin, Tournon d'Agenain and Penne d'Agenais. Local vineyards nearby include the Cahors region (Vin du Tsar), Buzet, and Bergerac. Further afield are the vineyards of the Bordeaux region and the lesser known excellent wines of the Gers.
A good day out will take you to the celebrated Gouffre de Padirac and Lacaves, Lascaux II along with the World Heritage Site of Rocamadour. Another is to do the tour of medieval Romanesque style churches with fresques and the magnificent cloisters of the Abbey at Moissac.
There are regular, bio and farmer's markets in all the nearby villages and towns, including night markets in the summer. (Tuesday in Dausse and Friday in Beauville). Restaurants ranging from the set menu for 12 euros type to high quality cuisine in Chateaux with A la Carte. There are specialised events like the Flower Market on 1 May in Tournon d'Agenais, Medieval Festival on 15 August in Monflanquin, Festivals of the Virgin in Penne and Tournon in August, Classic Car Rally on 1st Saturday of July in Roquecor, Festival of Music 21 June along with other musical events and concerts, many of which occur in the local churches and chateaux as well as in the open - called 'Son et Lumieres'. There are many varieties of activities in the local area, such as the archaeological dig of the Sanctuary of Eysses by the University of Toulouse during July 2014 and 2015, boating and canoeing on the Lot, parachute jumping, flying lessons at the aerodrome of Roge, cycling routes and over 350 walking maps ranging from 4 kms to all day outings some of which include parts of the famous St James Way called locally the Chemin de St Jacques.
