Description

A fully modernised cottage set amidst olive groves on a south facing slope overlooking valleys and mountains. Surrounded by a lovely garden full of roses and flowering shrubs - a haven of peace and tranquillity yet only ten to fifteen minutes from the local village. An ideal situation for walkers, bird watchers - close to the Torcal National Park. Eagles are often seen flying over the cottage.

Location description from owner

The Andalucia region

The area is entirely rural and the main crops are olives, almonds and arable farming. The cottage itself is surrounded by olive and almond groves and has breathtaking panoramic views over the valley to the mountains of Malaga and Ronda in the distance to the southwest. Sunsets are particularly spectacular. The Torcal National Park is approximately fifteen minutes away by car. The attraction of the area is its total peace and quiet, occasionally broken by the sound of goat bells.
There are lovely walks from the cottage and often golden eagles can be seen flying over the valley. At night you can look out from the terrace and see no light except the moon and stars. It is a place of tranquillity. In the spring there are abundant wild flowers along the road sides. Our garden is a profusion of colour the whole year round - roses, abelia, salvia, marguerites, lantana. rosemary and lavender - looked after by regular gardeners and also a large fig tree which fruits twice a year - so if you happen to be there at the right time you can enjoy them accompanied by the local goats cheese or dried ham - both of which are sold in the village.
Although the cottage is set in a completely rural situation it is only 35 minutes drive to Antequera - an historic town that was once the capital of Andalucia. There you can find - apart from the beautiful churches and convents - all the shops you could want and there is also a train station from where you can take the train to Cordoba and Seville as well as many other places. There is also a golf course in Antequera. Malaga is just over an hour's drive from the cottage as are Granada and Ronda.

Villanueva de la Concepcion

Because the cottage is located in a very rural area it is not suitable for those seeking nightlife. The locals are essentially farmers and the pace of life is very slow and moves with the seasons.
