Location description from owner

The Valencian Country region

The Costa Blanca, on the east coast of Spain, is famous for its fabulous climate and Blue Flag beaches. The average temperature being 24 degrees. It is a region that offers all things to all people. If you are a golfer, a gourmet, a sun worshipper, a rambler or party person then look no further, this is the place for you.

The area is dotted with challenging golf courses,a wide choice of restaurants, beautiful sandy beaches, lovely walks and a lively night-life. Las Ramblas is ideally placed for all of those and is served by 2 airports, Murcia (San Javier) and Alicante, only 25 and 40 minutes away respectively. Excellent road links make the huge number of places to see and explore, be it the countryside or the coast, easily accessible.

Villamartin

LAS RAMBLAS is one of now 4 GOLF COURSES close to the property. It is the most challenging of the four but well worth the effort. It is undoubtedly the most delightful, with lush woodland, dry ravines and natural beauty to enjoy on your round. The course has only recently been totally refurbished. Its new clubhouse,(NOW FULLY OPEN,FREE WIFI AVAILABLE HERE), is just a 5 minute walk away. Nearby is the green and lush CAMPOAMAR course and a little further on is the more famous VILLAMARTIN course. And now the new golf course, LAS COLINAS, opened in MAY 2010 and was, only recently ,voted number 73 in the top 100 most popular golf courses in Europe. And its only a short 10 minute drive away from Las Ramblas.La Manga and many other golf courses, to suit all handicaps, are short drives away. You golfers are spoilt for choice.

The popular plaza at Villamartin offers a WIDE CHOICE OF RESTAURANTS, cafes and bars and nearby at Cabo Roig there is yet another opportunity to sample different cuisines. Spain is famous for its tapas, why not try some when you are out and about.

A NEW COMMERCIAL CENTRE(La Fuente,) has just opened up outside Las Ramblas, approximately only 10 to 15 minutes walk and here you can find a varied selection of restaurants and bars(Free WIFI available in some outlets).Other shops/supermarkets are readily available in the immediate area.

If golf isn't your passion why not visit the many BLUE FLAG BEACHES located only 10 minutes drive away and enjoy the many activities they have to offer. A trip to the Mar Menor is a must where you can experience its warm, shallow, waters. Great for children.

LOCAL MARKETS can be found on almost any day in the Costa, selling virtually anything you want. The one on Playa Flamenca is probably the largest and most popular but my favourite is in San Pedro. It's much more Spanish.

Torrevieja, only 15 minutes away, is a thriving town, has a lovely promenade and 2 SALT LAKES nearby with a bird reserve and its pink flamingoes.

For the more adventurous why not TRAVEL FURTHER AFIELD to the beautiful city of Murcia itself and see the splendour of its architecture or visit the town of Guardamar, famous for its beaches and festivals. The town of Elche and its numerous palm trees are a sight to behold...one of my favourite places.Benidorm, approximately 1 hour away, has lots to offer, Terramitica theme park, Mundomar marine park and its exciting night-life. The historic city of Cartegena and its lovely harbour is only a 40 minute drive.

Don't fancy driving then why not check out the free local papers found outside many of the shops etc where you will have a choice of EXCURSIONS/COACH/BUS TRIPS etc to many places of interest at reasonable prices...some are even free! There is also now a local hop on/off bus available that does a circular loop around the area, calling at all the nearby beaches...only a couple of euros a trip.Nearest stop is La Fuente commercial centre just 10/15 minute walk away.

The long awaited La Zenia Boulevard shopping mall has finally opened its doors. You are spoilt for choice with over 150 outlets that includes Primark,Decathlon, Zara to name but a few.Large foodcourt with bars, bistros, a casino, a gym and bowling alley.A Grand Plaza with a botanical garden and there is even a London Square. All this less than an easy 10 minute drive away.

For your convenience I have compiled comprehensive folders that contain INFORMATION on places to visit, where to eat, activities to try, golf course details etc and even directions on how to get there. Just spend a little time browsing through them and I'm sure you will find lots to enjoy. There's something for everyone!

Check out the excellent website www.eurotourguide.com.It contains lots of details of the area and suggests places to visit and activities to try.

“A little piece of heaven”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2016

Our stay in this house was simply perfect. From the time of booking Kevin goes all out to make sure that your holiday will be as stressfree and enjoyable as possible. Immediately we received an information pack about the house and surrounding area, including great information about local markets (including directions and days each market is on), beaches, and places to eat. This was great as it enabled us to plan days out accordingly. There is also information on local hospitals, doctors etc. We also received incredibly detailed directions from the airport, which literally end with pull in and park to the right, you have arrived. No detail was missed. This is not a faceless company, Kevin is always available to contact with any problems or questions, not that I had any, all information is provided in the pack. The house itself is gorgeous. Impeccably clean and even with a well stocked larder. There is toys for the pool for the kids, beach toys if you choose to go to the beach, loungers, everything you could need. The rooms are all airconditioned and there is a solarium on the roof that is half in shade for the hotter parts of the day. The pool is also really well kept, and not overcrowded at any time. There is a baby pool and a shallow end of the big pool for little ones and a deep end for older kids and grown ups. The gardens around the house are well kept and secure, there is a high wall around the entire complex and a locked gate. I can't rate this letting highly enough, not just for the house, but for the peace of mind that renting from Kevin provided.

Thank you so much for your kind review. As I have said in previous responses I consider it my duty to ensure that all my guests have ' a stress free, enjoyable and hopefully memorable holiday' In my view providing just the accommodation and the facilities within it isn't enough hence the reason why I provide as much information as possible before and during their visits. And if problems do occur I am always just a text or phone call away to assist.I think the last sentence of this review says it all really. Many thanks....Kevin

“A wonderfully relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2016

At the risk of shooting myself in the foot by making this property more attractive and thereby more sought after and difficult to rent in the future I must give it five stars. The whole experience started at the point of booking. The owner was extremely helpful, providing a portfolio document which we were able to study prior to arrival, making it easier to settle quickly. We have been to the nearby town of Villamartin before and had a fair understanding but much has changed since then, including the construction of the new shopping complex at La Zenia Boulevard - a must for a quality shopping trip. On arrival at the house it was exactly as detailed in the photographs online - very well furnished and even in the baking heat, was very comfortable with the help of A/C in every room. The swimming pool is a very good size and given that it only serves a few properties it was very common for us to have it to ourselves, especially since it is positioned immediately outside the terrace. The pool was well used by all of us but especially our two boys who are both accomplished swimmers. Indeed they were able to use it before breakfast for a mini training session. Unfortunately the sun was too strong for breakfast on the terrace at this time of year but I suspect that would be very enjoyable off season. The location was first class, being a short distance from the busier area at La Fuenta suited us as we could walk in and out without being too close. Villamartin on the other hand is a drive or taxi journey. Speaking of hire cars, the owner also provided details of a company who would pick us up at the airport, provide a hire car at the resort and drop us off again at the airport, all for a very reasonable cost. The cars are not new but that actually makes it more relaxing, knowing that the rental company are not going to scrutinise the car on your return. My wife and I particularly liked the golf club at Las Ramblas and spent many evenings there either with dinner of just drinks. They have live entertainment nightly but our favourite were the chaps who played guitar, electric violin and light drums every Thursday night. We were on holiday for three weeks and managed two Thursdays. Definitely worth a night out. Food was also very good and priced accordingly with a choice of the restaurant menu and a club menu. Staff are very friendly! The local beach at Campoamor is also very nice but be aware of the red flags which are flown from time to time. We were advised by our chauffeur when travelling from the airport that a lady had very sadly lost her life only days before our arrival. When the green flags are flying all is well but I understand the current can be very powerful and thereby dangerous. We actually visited on what appeared to be a lovely day but about turned when we saw the red flag flying. We also stayed in the Campoamor golf club hotel for a weekend when celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary - I will provide comment regarding that at their site but suffice to say it too was first class. Overall it was a wonderful holiday and topped off by the owner's very kind gesture in allowing us to have use of the house on our last day when our flight was delayed. Superb!

Thank you Clarke for such a lovely review on your stay. I am delighted that you and your family had a 'wonderful relaxing holiday'.It is important that I hear this from my guests as I want them all to have similar experiences, hence the reason why i provide the pre -information pack and why I constantly keep in touch before and during their holidays.Myself and my keyholders are available to sort out any problems should they arise as quickly as possible. Guests feedback are essential. Without them I am unable to gear how to make improvements so thank you for your generous comments. Hopefully we can tempt you back in the not too distant future. Many thanks once again.

“a home from home”

Right from the moment we actually booked this house, everything was really easy. The owner emailed me several times to give me extra information about the area and we received a big information pack before we left on our holidays too detailing all the local resturants/bars, beaches and markets and how to get there which came in very useful during our stay. The house itself is in a peaceful location but close enough to the local eateries. Everything is on one floor which was perfect for us with young children, no worrying about them falling downstairs in the middle of the night. When you go outside there is another level upstairs to the solarium where there is a big trunk full of beach toys, a barbecue and loungers. The communal pool is right outside the back door and pretty much empty, we had it to ourselves most of the time which was wonderful. The few neighbours we did see were very friendly. The house has two bedrooms and airconditioning in both bedrooms which had been an important selling point for us since on previous visits to the area we had always needed it, however this house was pleasantly cool and we never found the need to use the air con at all. Also the beds were really comfortable, very good mattresses and a good night's sleep was had by all. The kitchen is very well-equipped and has everything you could possibly need and there are lots of books and dvds to use too. The impression we got was that the owner is not only in this business to make a profit from the house, he genuinely wants you to have a good holiday. I thought the house was even nicer than in the photos and that's unusual. We've rented several houses over the last few years and in our experience some things are always different or not as good as advertised but this place is everything and more. We had a lovely relaxing holiday and would thoroughly recommend this property.

“First Class (just like the first time we were here)”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2013

I first stayed here in May 2012 (see review 7th May 2012) and I said at the time I wouldn't hesitate in returning. Well this time I asked the owner (Kevin) to help me secure additional properties as my wife and I wanted to bring out our two daughters, son, their partners and our two grandchildren - well he did it, Kevin secured a second property within 24 hours of asking and put us in touch with his local keyholder who then secured two further properties. My original review still stands, this apartment is FIRST CLASS and I know that friends of mine are considering booking for another 50th birthday celebration in 2014. Would have no hesitation in staying here again - keep up the good work Kevin.

“Perfect location”

Reviewed 22 May 2013

Spent 10 nights at accomodation in early May, and along with other reviews on this site, we could find no fault with either property or booking process. We found the townhouse to be furnished to a high standard and were particularly happy as it is ideally situated for local resorts and amenities, and is a short stroll from good golf facilities. The owner is very organised and as well as arranging keys to be collected/dropped off with a very friendly local contact, has alot of additional information for the local area for restaurants, places to see and golf courses etc. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, many thanks Kevin.

“Delightfull Property”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2013

I travelled with a group of 8 Golfers in March with a mix of young and mature. The owner, Kevin, was great and full of useful information and able to organise and recommend golf courses, restaurants etc. Las Ramblas is a great course and has a nice club house bar and restaurant which is a 5 min walk from the property. The apartment has all the facilities you need and has a lovely pool and roof top seating area. If you are feeling energetic then there is a bike hire shop in the local shopping centre and lots of people cycle and walk along the canal. Great stay and looking forward to going again next year!

Spent a wonderful 10 days at this well equipped and furnished villa in Las Ramblas. I was especially delighted at the quality of the outdoor furniture as we spent a lot of time on the sunbeds!

“Excellent Town House with Everything You Need”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2011

My wife and young son and I stayed here for a week in August 2011. The house is exactly as described, and more. The property is situated in the heart of a golfing complex/community within easy drive of the motorway, Cabo Roig, Villa Martin and plenty of beaches. The commercial Centre (La Fuente) is around 10-15 min walk away and has numerous restaurants, bars and shops. The Mercadona is a further 5 min and, being a large-ish supermarket, has everything you would need (including good fish and deli counters). The house itself was very clean and comfortable. The main living room has shelves of books, recent DVDs, games and satellite TV (with numerous English TV channels. The kitchen was on the small side but had excellent modern appliances - fridge freezer (full size), cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. The bedrooms and bathrooms (one with bath and another with a shower) were clean and comfortable and the air conditioning units are brand new. The swimming pool is really good, in the sun for most of the day and there is a children's end that is perfect for youngsters. The pool is shared between a number of houses but whilst we were there, there was only 1 other family using it. Kevin was a delight to deal with and Andy, who met us at the property, couldn't have been more helpful. The question I always ask myself after I return is 'Would I go back?’. Oh Yes.

“A wonderful relaxing Holiday in a beautiful apartment.”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2011

We stayed for 10 days August 2011,family of four with two young children. The apartment is clean, spacious and comfortable. Everything you need is there, even beach towels were provided by wonderful owner Kevin, who made the whole process easy and straightforward. Las Ramblas is a beautiful area with lots of places to eat (La Fuente about 15 mins walk) and a good atmosphere. Beaches are all easily accessible as road links are great. We even had a day trip to Benidorm which was surprisingly beautiful!. This is without doubt the nicest apartment we have stayed in , the pool is right outside the door , great for the kids and great for the parents who can sit and relax while kids have fun. Will recommend to family and friends and hopefully Kevin will let us stay again in the future. The Wroe Family, Nottingham
