La Vall de Gallinera is an area that offers few natural resources and pasagísticos making it a place of captivating beauty. Among the attractions of the place is worth highlighting the many natural water sources that are scattered throughout the valley, some of them converted to traditional washing with a considerable ethnological value and also the eight towns, the charm of which invites us to walk its narrow streets where we can also observe firsthand the authenticity of its people.
Besides the valley is endowed with an extensive historical and cultural heritage highlighting rock art shelters declared a World Heritage Site and two castles that once guarded the entrances to the valley, the castle also called Benirrama Gallinera and of Alcala also called Benissili, which dates back to s. XI and XIII were the residence of Al-Azraq, famous Muslim prince considered the banner of resistance against the Christians of King James I..
The best known topographic feature and representative of La Vall de Gallinera Foradà Penya is that in the months of March and October offers us an unprecedented spectacle. This is the famous Foradà solar alignment with the former site of the Franciscan convent of Benitaia. The solar alignment dates back to 1611, when the Franciscan monks who built a monastery next to Benitaia sponsored by the Duke of Gandia, wished it was located on the spot where, coinciding with the day of celebration of their patron Saint Francis de Assisi (October 4), the sun's rays pass through the perforated and illuminate this building and maybe even a statue of the saint.
