Al Sakia Village is a newly completed complex, built on a green field site between Almancil, Vilamoura and Quarteira, which is known as " The Golden Triangle".

The Apartment is fully furnished for comfortable living and is situated on the first floor and consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious lounge and fully fitted kitchen.

The Apartment blocks are low rise set in a quiet tree-lined environment, with security controlled, private leisure facilities set in landscaped gardens. - Security controlled private Leisure facilities set in extensive landscaped gardens, comprising a large swimming pool, children's paddling pool and apparatus, the popular Italian Bar/Restaurant "Tiramisu" with pool side terrace, gymnasium, sauna and tennis courts. Tiramisu has fresh fish and local Portuguese dishes/pasta available together with an extensive take away menu.

- Vila Sol Golf Course is at the rear of the Village and the "Aquashow" waterslide park is nearby (longest water coaster in Europe - see 12 other quality golf courses are within 10 km, including those at Vilamoura, Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago.

- A variety of local cuisine and continental restaurants are within easy reach, including 6 within 2 kms.

- The local beach at Fonte Santa (Trafal) is secluded, long and sandy with bars/restaurants and has beach/watersports hire facilities. Other quality beaches at Quarteira, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura within a few minutes drive.

The Algarve region

Internationally recognized as 1of the best locations for the family with long golden sandy beaches washed by the Atlantic Ocean. Famous for the local's hospitality together with traditions of its fishing industry & country rustic life. Excellent value for food, particularly seafood and traditional Portuguese dishes eg Cataplana, Seafood Rice etc, and local wine.

WEATHER: Traditionally over 3,000 hours of sun each year which equals that of the Costa Brava, California and the French Riviera. In winter it is one of the sunniest spots in Europe but you have to beware of the sea breezes which are very deceptive (masking fierce sun), and skin protection is very important, especially in the summer, when temps can reach 90+ degrees F.


BANKS: Hrs: 8.30am/3.0pm Mon/Fri, Weekends: Closed all day. Cash can be obtained from the ATM machines (MultiBanco).

CURRENCY: The Euro. Travellers' cheques are a safe way to carry money. If lost or stolen (can be replaced). The exchange rate for traveller's cheques are more favourable than they are for cash. Eurocheques, with card are widely accepted in hotels & good restaurants. Cash dispensers are generally available. Major credit cards are accepted by larger hotels, restaurants & shops, & most petrol stations.

DRIVING: EU licences/international driving licences are valid. Have your documents with you. Drive on the right and seat belts must be worn (very strict). Alcohol limit: 0.5 gm/l, which is lower than in UK.


AL-SAKIA VILLAGE was constructed on a green field site between Vilamoura, Almancil and Quarteira and was completed in 2004/5. It is in a semi- rural, quiet area but beaches, resorts, restaurants and nightlife are in abundance and within a few minutes drive of the Village. It is excellent for sun, sea, sand, fishing, water sports, , horse riding, walking, sightseeing and has one of Europe's most famous Golf courses in it's back garden. 12 other quality Golf courses are within 10 kms.

QUARTEIRA is amongst Algarve's top resorts with safe bathing & long, sandy beaches running uninterrupted to Faro. The long promenade (Algarve's longest) is wonderfully maintained and is bordered by palms and , beautiful flowering hibiscus & white & pink of the oleander. Numerous Bars and Restaurants is a feature of the promenade many serving freshly-caught fish direct from the local market (one of the best in the Algarve) at extremely reasonable prices. It boasts a 13th-century parish church, and the Gypsy market on Wednesdays is a major attraction, as is the Joker Bar, which has featured as the no 1 English Bar, for some 20 years. A tourist land train that runs along the front to Vilamoura which is a big favourite with the children.

VILAMOURA is 1of the largest single tourist complexes in Europe and covers some 2,000 hectares. It has been developed since the 60's and most forms of sport/entertainment can be found there. It is fronted by a long sandy beach and features a range of quality Hotels and a superb Marina (Puerto Banus style). Amongst the many attractions/facilities there are 5 quality Golf Courses, a large Marina, a Lawn Bowling Club, a Tennis Centre, a Sports Club, a Shooting Club, Night Clubs, an International Casino, a Cinema, a private Airstrip & an excellent Riding School. There is a Roman Site & Museum giving a glimpse of the past and many different activities e.g.ballooning, bird watching, day boat trips, coach trips, or excursions in a Safari Jeep to explore the local countryside. Many restaurants serving local freshly cooked food, & specialties e.g. Indian, Chinese &Italian – plus the popular USA franchises. Night-life offers a selection of bars, clubs & a superb international dinner with floor show at the Casino.

"Great Property & Location"

The previous reviews have covered everything and I cannot add more except to say I agree with them all !! Well presented property in a peaceful "central" Algarve location with plenty to see and do locally including several excellent and well priced restaurants !! The property manager is Maria and she is always available to give help and advice - well done !!

"A great location with excellent facilities"

We are just back from our fourth visit to this apartment. It was good to start with, and it just keeps getting better. Inside the apartment it feels like being at home. There is no skimping, with comfortable furniture and high quality tv/DVD etc. You can get many UK tv channels. Outside, the two balconies get sun all day. The surrounding development is well kept. The Tiramisu is a great restaurant and is beside the pool and the gym. Nearby you can walk to several restaurants and a well stocked Aldi supermarket. This is better than UK Aldi, with fresh baked bread and good value stock. A larger Pingo Doce is not far away. If you drive, Quarteira is a few minutes away. There are many good restaurants there, and a good beach. You can walk from there to Vilamoura where the marina is stunning. The thing is, you can walk back and get good value food in Quarteira without paying Vilamoura prices! It is a very relaxing place to stay. Maria is around to provide local help if you do get stuck over anything. We loved it and we hope to be back again soon. Jim & Sue

"Great Apartment in a Central Location"

This apartment has everything you need and some things you don't! The apartment is very clean, well maintained and secure. We stayed for just over a week and the location is great for exploring the Algarve. Close to a new supermarket and some very good restaurants in walking distance this is a great place to stay. The balconies get the sun all day, so if you don't want to go out you can still get the sunshine. You will have everything you need from sewing kits to sun hats and there are plenty of things to amuse kids if you take them. The pool in the complex is huge and is clean and well maintained and Tiramusi restaurant has great food and service. Will be booking this apartment again without doubt.

"Great apartment and location"

Lovely apartment in complex, perfectly clean, lots of towels, great facilities, SKY TV, video and dvd to keep the kids happy after the beach/pool. Heard nothing from neighbouring apartments. Fantastic pool, with restaurant which has super friendly staff. Cheap but really good quality food - the best in the immediate area. 10 minute walk to supermarket. Less than 10 euro in taxi to Villamoura (which is lively with loads of shops/restaurants), 10 euro to Vale de lobo (but 20 back !) which is posher and has stunning beach and restaurants. Really recommend this apartment. Only perceived downside for some maybe location as it is detached, but for us we liked that as you can leave the hustle and bustle behind for peace and tranquility. Great comms by Tony who owns the property really good service thank you.
