The Algarve region
Algarve. The region is an extensive and enjoyable one, with a Mediterranean climate, marked by the fragrance of the sea at low tide and the scent of wild flowers, wherever you look, the colours of the mountains and sea are constantly with you. As you travel through the Algarve, amidst its hills and plains packed with places of great ecological importance, rich in biodiversity and ecosystems, you will feel as though you are passing through an area full of diverse traditions, untouched for many centuries. You can also simply lose yourself in the vastness of the coastal strip but a stroll through the tangled web of narrow streets, alleys and steps to be found away from the coast is the best way of getting to know this part of the region.
Only a step away from the serene peace of the inland region is the excitement of the Algarve nightlife. Bars, discos, marinas and casinos guarantee visitors the very best kind of merrymaking. The backdrop is composed of some of Europe's most beautiful beaches, from where you can admire the rocky coastline and the playful shadows they cast on the sand. Also to be recommended is the variety of outdoor sports that are available, whether you're playing golf on lush green courses or enjoying some physical exercise at some of the region's exceptional facilities, whether you're on the coast or perhaps up in the hills, where, after the rigours of winter and even before the first signs of spring, the land is covered in a pinkish white blanket, produced by the blossom of the almond-trees scattered across the horizon.
This is the true portrait of an Algarve that you'll find waiting for you, all year round.
Vilamoura means luxury, the reason for that are the top quality properties, five championship golf courses, tennis centre, nightclubs, horse riding centre, bowling club, Casino, fitness routes, road trains, the stunning blue flag beaches and the well-known cosmopolitan marina, front dotted with various restaurants, bars and shops. At this fine-looking resort entertaining the children is never a problem, a wide variety of activities such as family fun golf park, tennis centre, golden sandy beaches with banana boats, parasailing, jet skis and various other water activities and last but certainly not less for the kids is the aquashow water park in the road to Almancil.
Once you have experienced the delights of Vilamoura, it will entice you to come back Year after Year.

"Fantastic villa in a great location!"
Travelled to this fabulous, clean and very spacious villa with extended family, 13 of us! including a baby, toddler and small child, we had plenty of room to escape each other when we wanted! It's kitted out with everything you could need including 2 bicycles. Walking distance to supermarket/bar/restaurant and water park. Less than 10 minutes (and less than €9) in taxi to Vilamoura marina where there's loads of bars/restaurants/nightlife & shopping and a gorgeous beach. A really nice area to walk around. Outdoor area was lovely, we sat out most nights and made use of the bbq. Pool was fab although quite deep and a little chilly in June, it didn't stop us swimming! Villa is suitable for small kids, we had no problems but did need to get creative with safety, blocking the lovely marble staircase, locking basement and hiding several expensive looking vases/ornaments! Definitely recommend this property and would definitely go back. Management very quick to come around and fix small leak in toilet and bring more towels etc.
