A modern, beautifully appointed townhouse in a peaceful Portuguese village called Fonte Santa, just outside Vila Nova de Cacela. The nearest beach is at Manta Rota, about 3 km away. The house is on a small condominium of 11 townhouses, securely fenced with electric gates entrance, making it safe for children. There is a communal swimming pool, gardens with barbeques and allocated parking. The house is fully furnished and equipped with bed-linen, towels etc all provided. Satelite t.v.

The area is very peaceful and unspoilt. A short walk down the lane is a local bar with snacks and cooked meals and a little further on, a small general store for groceries and day to day needs. Vila Nova de Cacela has a range of shops and restaurants, a market and railway station. Spain is only a short drive away over the bridge or take a ferry from Vila Real de Santo Antonio (VRS). There is a very pretty drive alongside the river Guardiana that devides Portugal from Spain, to Alcoutim. For golfers

The old town of Tavira is very picturesque with its river flowing through the centre, cobbled streets, church spires, Roman bridge and Island beach (Ilha de Tavira). There is a large fish market and the Camera Obscura is well worth a visit.

The Algarve region

The Algarve is the southern coastal area of Portugal. Generally very sunny with extensive sandy beaches and areas of great natural beauty. The eastern Algarve is not built up like the western end and has a natural Portuguese feel to it. There are many interesting towns and villages with historical buildings and castles. The area is also renown for its numerous golf courses. Orange, lemon and olive groves are in abundance.

Vila Nova de Cacela

The house is near Villa Nova de Cacela, about 12 km east of Tavira and about 3 km from the beach at Manta Rota. Tavira is an historical town with a Roman bridge and the River Gilao running through it. There are castle ruins with views over the town with its many spires and terracotta rooftops. There is an extensive sandy beach on the Isle of Tavira (Ilha de Tavira). Ferries to the beach are alongside the River Gilao.
