Visitors can walk to most of the city's fascinating places of tourist interest including the Belvedere Palace and its beautiful gardens.Naturally there are also different public transport options available including the line D tram line that leaves from the Schloss Belvedere stop, only a few minutes' walk from the apartment and leading directly to the city centre. Another possibility is to catch U1 metro line (U-Bahn) that connects directly with Karlsplatz, Stephansplatz, and the famous Prater theme park. You find the measures that have been implemented so far here:• All our apartments receive their electricity from 100% renewable energy• We are of the opinion that one should live with and not off the environment. Therefore, we donate 3% of our profits to organizations that are active in social and environmental areas. A new organization is elected every year.• This apartment uses only LED lights and does without inefficient incandescent bulbs or energy saving light bulbs containing mercury• We want to protect the global environment but we do not want our guests to have to sacrifice comfort. A permanent adaptation to the latest technology is just as inefficient (because still functional devices would need to be scrapped) as expensive. So we renew old or broken equipment by energy-efficient electronics step by step.• We try as often as possible to refrain from printed documents. If it cannot be avoided we use exclusively recycled paper for printed documents

Vienna

Wieden is Vienna's fourth district and was founded in 1850. It is a typical inner-city neighbourhood; a densely-populated area without many open green areas or parks. A large part of the neighbourhood makes up the historical centre of Vienna, considered a World Heritage Site and home to the Karlsplatz with the Karlskirche (Saint Charles Borromeo Church), the Museum of Vienna, the main building of the Technical University (Technische Universität) and the Evangelical School (Evangelische Schule). The close location of the Karlsplatz to the Opera and other concert halls makes it one of Vienna's cultural centres as well as providing a connection for metro lines U1, U4 and U2. The Saint Charles Borromeo Church, one of the city's most important symbols, was commissioned by the Emperor Charles VI in 1713 and built between 1716 and 1739. The most widely visited museum in the district is the Museum of Vienna, presenting an overview of the city's history throughout the centuries, as well as a wide collection of different works of art. It includes the house of the composer Schubert with a display that represents the last stage in the life of the famous composer. The Technical University (Technische Universität) is another symbolic building along with its adjacent library; nicknamed 'the owl' after the huge ornamental bird that decorates its façade. In the north of the district the market of Naschmarkt is home to every different kind of food produce as well as articles of clothing and other products. It is well worth taking a stroll around the market, and experiencing its unique atmosphere on Saturday mornings. Night lovers will find a range of different venues to go out for a drink such as the legendary Schikaneder, a former cinema now home to a popular bar with music and live DJs.
