"La Casetta del Mare" has an excellent location, which allows you to walk to the beach and park.
The accommodation is suitable for families with children, as it is on the ground floor and has a small courtyard in front, where you can have dinner during hot summer evenings. Biking you can visit all the coast, up to Forte dei Marmi and even more.
There are a lot of unmissable events in Versilia: the famous "Carnival" in Viareggio, in January/February, that lasts for the all month and recalls people from all Europe; the "Puccini Festival", setting in July/August, one of the most popular Opera Festival in Italy. You can't miss neither the Sant'Ermete Party, in late August, in Forte dei Marmi, nor the cultural event "Meet a book", in Pietrasanta, at the beginning of June, to arrive at the end of November for the Lucca Comics, while in July you can listen to some of most famous singers of the world performing at Lucca Summer Festival.
In addiction to the beach and the pianwoods, you can easly reach, by car, the countryside and the mountains landscapes of Alpi Apuane, full of small medieval villages to be seen and lived, with their historical traditions, with tipical food and wines.

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is located in central Italy and stretches from the Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Its landscape, artistic heritage and stand-out cities - first among them Florence - make Tuscany an unquestioned protagonist of international tourism. In this region, nature has many different facets, starting from the coast that alternates long and sandy beaches, like the Versilia beach, with rocky cliffs and steep headlands. The islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, a crystal-clear sea and rich seabeds, are peerless.
You can admire sceneries of uncontaminated nature in the Apuan Alps and in several protected areas, such as the Orbetello Lagoon, home to many species of migrant birds, including pink egrets.
However, the most typical sceneries of the region are those that merge the beauty of nature with the millenary work of man. The amazing Gulf of Baratti and the sites of Vetulonia, Vulci and Pitigliano guard necropoli and vestiges of the Etruscan civilization, while Roselle and Cosa evoke memories from the Roman Age.
Medieval villages, historical towns, castles and defense systems, country churches (the so-called pievi) and beautiful abbeys, like the one of Sant'Antimo, are scattered all over the territory and their profiles stand out in the landscapes of the Crete Senesi, Orcia Valley, Garfagnana, Chianti and the Maremma.
Finally, Tuscany is full of spas: Montecatini, Saturnia, Montepulciano, Monsummano and Bagno Vignoni, which offer relaxing holidays thanks to their thermal waters and well-equipped facilities for all types of treatments.
The provinces of the region are: Florence (regional capital), Arezzo, Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca, Massa Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena.

"fantastic apartment perfect for family"
We were visiting viareggio for a friends wedding in july. We stayed for 9 days in the apartment and it was exactly what we needed. We have two young children (2 and 6months ) the apartment ment we could eat when we wanted and have all the home comforts. Alexadra and her family made us feel very welcome with cake and water on arrival. The apartment is very clean and well equipt with everthing you could want. This includes the kitchen which can sometimes be rubbish in an apartment. This one has plenty of cooking utensils. The apartment akso has a high chair and cot bed at no extra charge. We even used the baby carrier they had one day as iur buggy got wet in a storm. The apartment is accessed by a very narrow alley thriugh the side of the families home which means buggies need to be left at the front. This was not an issue as the garden safe. The appartment is also within walking distance of a vety large super market and a smaller one. The beach is also a short 20 min walk away through a fantastic park. We decided to get the train from the airport to the apartment. The station is 10 mins away if that and its a straight walk really. The onky hastle is getting everthing out of buggy etc onto train and off again with two kids! Trains are the massive ones with big steps up. We did it though. When we went home we used a taxi as it was early. The taxi was about 80 euro the train around 4! Lots to do in viareggio with children like crazy golf, bike rides and the beach. The beach is all private so yiu have to pay for a spot. I was worried about this but i have to say i will prob do this again as i preferred it. The beach was quiet and well mantained and also its nit all packed in like a free beach. Its 25 euro for the day andwe used to go earky and come back for nap time and go again later when its cooler. For the beaches with a pool too it is more expensive. We paid around 50 and this was for a beach cabana and sunlogers round the pool too. The free beach is a really far walk down the beach and past the harbiur i think. After visiting spain the following week and a normal beach i wiuld say italys are far nicer and less stressful with kids as its not as busy. Day trips to piza are also easy on the train and well wirth it. Book yiur trip up the tower in advance. Children under 8ish cant go up We would definitely go back to italy and viareggio again.
Many Thanks Emma for your kindliness,it was pleasure to have your family my guest, and your baby is fantastic,Rebecca still remebers.... I hope that you and your family come back soon.

"A wonderful week."
I stayed with my daughter and 9 month old grandson at this very child friendly property. Alessandra was a warm, welcoming and friendly host. We were greeted with a cake from the local bakers and a cold bottle of water in the fridge - a very nice and much appreciated gesture. The property itself was quiet and comfortable in what was for us a fantastic location. Good selection of kitchen equipment. Having air conditioning was a luxury as the weather was very hot when we visited. It's not too far from the beach which can be accessed by walking through a lovely 'pineta' with welcomed shade and much to do for slightly older children. What was nice about the location was that we felt like locals, not tourists. The beach itself is spotless and well maintained. As it wasn't peak season we were able to hire deckchairs and an umbrella at a reasonable price. There is also a lot to do if it's not weather for the beach. There is an amazing supermarket nearby with wonderful fresh fish, fruit and veg, bread focaccia, cured meat - the list is endless. So much choice and variety. There are some lovely little local shops too. We ate ice ream at every opportunity! There is also a wide variety of places to eat, the highlight for us being Tito del Molo for locally caught fish. Lovely interior and location. A day trip to Lucca is highly recommended. The train station is only a short walk away. It's a beautiful medieval walled city. All in all we had a truly fantastic time. Highly recommended. Thank you Alessandra!

"Super charming home close to beach and restaurants"
The home is lovely: perfectly equipped and with a great atmosphere that makes you really feel home. The property is located in a quiet residential street just a few minutes from the beach (it was great to have bicycles available to go around), restaurants, supermarket and train station. Alessandra, the owner, is very kind and helpful. We loved our stay. The home is a gem and we highly recommend it.

"Posizione ottima sia per il mare che per la stazione"
La Casetta sul Mare si trova in un'ottima posizione a 15 minuti a piedi dalla spiaggia di Viareggio, a 10 dalla stazione e a 5 dal supermercato. Dispone di tutto lo spazio per ospitare anche 6 persone (camera con 1 matrimoniale, 2 letti a castello e soggiorno/cucina con 1 divano letto matrimoniale) con a disposizione cucina con lavastoviglie e forno e lavatrice. Tutto nuovo e arredato bene. Con posto per mangiare sia all'interno che all'esterno. Assolutamente consigliata per il soggiorno di una famiglia o di un gruppo di amici. Unica pecca, la connessione internet, disponibile, ma con segnale un po' debole.

The apartment is locatated in a quiet area of the town. The hosts are nice and very helpfull. We enjoyed our stay and especially the little garden space available for us. We also enjoyed the daily walk through the park on our way to the beach or city senter.

With the four of us, mother, 2 sisters and a baby boy (1,5 years old), we had a very nice stay in Casetta del Mare and in Viareggio. The casetta just gives you the feeling that you're nearby the beach. Everthing is new and it's complete. From the casetta it's a 10 minute walk through the pinewood to the sea/boulevard and 15 minutes walk to the center. If you're looking for a nice stay in Viareggio I can recommend Casetta del mare. From Viraggio you can visit all the beautiful places/citys of Tuscany.

"Bel soggiorno e bella accoglienza"
Siamo cinque in famiglia.
