Location description from owner

The Swiss Alps region

The unspoilt family village of Veysonnaz is situated at 1400metres (feet) high above the Rhone valley. Perched high on the mountainside it offers panoramic views of the Rhone valley and surrounding mountains. As part of the four valleys, Veysonnaz boasts one of the largest ski areas in Europe with over 400kms of piste and 100 lifts to elevate to the mountaintops. From Veysonnaz you can ski to the world famous resort of Verbier in less than 90 minutes. In the summer this huge ski area becomes a massive mountain top parkland with 300 kms of sign posted walks. The village facilities include several restaurants, bars and a supermarket plus a swimming pool and wellness centre. With little traffic it is a safe environment for children to explore and do the early morning baguette shop for breakfast. Sion, the oldest town in Switzerland, is just 20 minutes away, which hosts many attractions including a priory, fort, Europe’s largest underground lake, historic cobbled streets with a myriad of restaurants and shops as well as a weekly market.

“Skiing Holiday in Veysonnaz”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2014

Rosablanche is a spacious well appointed Swiss Chalet located in Veysonnaz.I would thoroughly recommend it for a holiday in Veysonnaz as a base for either skiing or summer pursuits. The Agent was extremely welcoming on arrival. The facilities at the chalet were excellent. The lack of internet probably helped make the holiday -as we were able to talk together rather than everyone endlessly communicating back home. The local restaurant was very friendly and provided good quality food. Similarly the local supermarket was useful as well as the bakery in the mornings for fresh bread and croissants. The ski terrain is long established and ideal for all levels. We had a great winter break. Thank you to the owners.
