It cannot be overstated how beautiful this property is and how well situated it is to enable you to enjoy the real spanish countryside with both the capital city and popular ski resorts within a short drive. The property has 3 "official bedrooms" however more people can sleep with the use of an extra normally unused part of the property (1 double bed). The property is perfect for children (9+) as well with plenty of room to explore, relax and whole wall in the house to draw on! (chalk wall). During the summer you can even sit in the garden and watch a film projected against the exterior wall. The experience will be unforgettable. This property has been used by many promotion firms for advertisements due to its beauty. The bedrooms are 2 x single bedroom (for children mainly) 1 x main suite & 1 part of the house with 1 double bed and bathroom.Please note during the busy months (April - Oct), where people are leaving and entering on the same day the fixed departure/checkout time for guests is 11AM and entering/checkin at 4PM onwards this will allow the property to be cleaned, bedclothes changed etc. *Very young children please let us know because bedrooms are distributed on each side of the property so very young children please check if the property is appropriate*

Very young children i.e. below 5. In this property it is important to keep a very close eye on them. This is due to the gallery and the back terrace that could be dangerous. No Smoking in the property ONLY the garden. Pets are not allowed.

“Not suitable for young children, word of caution about the layout of this house”

The house really is best described as a 3 bedroom house with a master bedroom suite and two single bedrooms. There is a second double bedroom but this is located on the underside of the house and is accessed by leaving the house from the back door and walking down two lots of rocky steps (there is no internal route to the second double bedroom). It has its own external door with key pad locking. It is very difficult to explain the location of this room but technically it is in the basement of the house with windows. The house itself is a stunning design but not particularly practical or family friendly. It was also very hot in August due to all the glass and limited air conditioning. None of the bedrooms have air conditioning. The two single bedroom windows only open to a tilt and the master bedroom window did not open at all. The second double was cooler as its partly under ground and has limited light so it remained cooler but also a bit damp smelling, again the windows only open to a tilt. No wifi in second bedroom. We came to stay here as two families of two adults and 1 child each age 9 years old. As others have found the two single bedrooms are not suitable for younger children as they are so far from the main bedroom with potential hazards they could encounter up in that part of the house alone like the open rail art gallery balcony. I would say these rooms are best suited to older teenage children or adults. We both slept with our children on mattresses in our double bedrooms. Whilst this worked fine for our friends as the master bedroom is off of the kitchen and dining area, we found it very uncomfortable leaving our daughter alone to sleep in the second double in the evenings and returning to the main house. There is a baby monitor (very good video one) but the range is limited from the outside double bedroom into the main house due to the distance and altering levels. Due to the design and layout of this house, particularly the bedrooms, I would say it is best suited to a couple with older teenage children or groups of adults. I also think the house is probably best enjoyed in the winter or early spring when temperatures are lower and more comfortable to drive around and visit Madrid and the local area. Be prepared to drive around as there is not much in the local residential area. The centre of the community did have a pharmacy, a cafe type eatery/ bar and a small basic supermarket all with limited opening times. There was a commercial centre which had a 'Spar' sign but the building looked empty like it was abandoned or being built. We drove 20 mins to find a decent supermarket and 30-35 mins up in the mountains to find a village where there was a small selection of restaurants. Maybe this experience was affected by it being August and many of the locals being away on holiday too. Due to our experience we cut the holiday short and returned home. Our friends remained and enjoyed their stay which I think is a reflection of the house's true suitability. The owner Charles was informed by me of our experience and my intention to write a fair and honest review but choose to not reply to me directly stating the booking was made by my friend.
