“The best-equipped, beautiful cottage”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2016

We were six adults and two children (aged 1 years, and 3 months). We found the cottage very relaxing and spacious, with everything we could want/need for a weekend away, and a wide array of toys to keep our 1 year old entertained. We loved the location and the garden wildlife was amazing to see. The location is good, being close to the lighthouse and short walk into the village, with easy access to the coast road to get around the island.

“Fourth fantastic stay at the best cottage on the IOW”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2016

We have just had our fourth stay at Camellia Cottage - we have never returned to an IOW cottage so many times (and we spent 5 weeks on the Island in 2015 at 4 different cottages - I would have booked Camellia Cottage for all 5 weeks if it hadn't been booked already). I have already booked for 2017. Says it all really. John & Louise prepare everything so well - Easter Eggs for the children, wine & biscuits for us & dog treats for our two labs. The cottage is truly fantastic - there are no gripes at all. See you next year xx

“A beautiful cottage with so much to offer!”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2016

We arrived at the cottage after we were supplied with helpful instructions by the owners. They had really thought about every little detail and the cottage was very clean, as well as being very modern and stylish. It's a wonderful setting, and has easy access to the local village and just down the hill is the historic lighthouse. One thing I found particularly special was that we were left with bread and jam to feed the local badgers; very entertaining of an evening! I have already recommended this beautiful cottage to all my friends and family, and would love to come back in the future.

“Outstanding”

Reviewed 9 Jan 2016

We stayed over Christmas and the thought and detail that the owners put into decorating the place and making it comfortable was fabulous.

“Camellia Cottage is a gem tucked away in a lovely corner of the Isle of Wight.”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2015

We have now stayed at Camellia Cottage 3 times. That says something as we generally don't go back to holiday places. It's a wonderfully welcoming cottage and it's easy to relax and feel away from it all very quickly. The cottage is warm and comfortable and John and Louise have thought of providing everything to make your holiday perfect. The garden is a lovely place to explore and relax in and it has a great play area for children. We love the area around the cottage and enjoy walking around the coast by the lighthouse and round the corner to the Buddle. Camellia cottage now feels like a home from home for us and we look forward to returning.

“Full of thoughtful touches”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2015

Once the big gates swing open Camellia Cottage is very welcoming. Inside we found a generous spread of treats, which seemed to be chosen with thought given to who we were and the week ahead – including (this being late October) a pumpkin and mini saw to carve it. Thoughtful is probably the key word that distinguishes Camellia from most holiday homes, as it often felt as if the owners had anticipated every need (and they also rang up the first evening to check all was ok). It's a highly characterful place with things to discover and games to play all over the house and garden, and perfect places to sit wherever the sunny spot happens to be, a really comfortable space overall. After a week it felt very much like a home and we felt a bit of a pang on having to leave it.

“Absolutely stunning cottage with fantastic owners.”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2015

This cottage and the garden is absolutely stunning but words cannot describe how much so. I rented it on behalf of my family but visited myself. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The service they provided was not anything below fantastic. Very kind people and anything you need to live day-to-day is provided by them in the cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very child friendly with lots for them to do. The added experience of feeding the badgers in the evening makes it unique and provided wonderful memories for all, especially the young children. Myself and my family would definitely visit again and would recommend it to everyone. The area of Niton is so beautiful and peaceful with many attractions just a short drive away. St Catherine's Lighthouse is a few minutes walk away and is lovely also.

“Fantastic property”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2015

This was our 3rd time staying at camellia , and it still has the wow factor . The owners are always friendly . It is very child friendly but still has a charm that appeals to adults The cottage is very well stocked with everything you could need , the garden is beautiful with nightly visits by badgers , red squirrels in the day . A perfect secluded base for visiting the island where you can chill out after a busy day

“Amazing”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2015

This was our second stay at camellia cottage, cannot fault this place everything you could possibly need is provided. The cottage is spotless and beautiful. John and Louise are very very helpful and are lovely people. We had a few days of not so good weather but the cottage provides so much entertainment for all ages, books, board games, x box, and many more. In the gardens there is a huge chest of outdoor games as well as a large trampoline, a park for small children, a lovely barbecue area. We always do a treasure hunt in the gardens for our grand child. John and Louise have put everything into this cottage and made it amazing which makes it a lovely holiday destination for all my family and the dogs.
