Our Victorian cottage has been decorated and furnished to a high standard in a sympathetic style in keeping with its period. It's upside down layout maximises the living space and town and ocean view - probably one of the best sea views on the island!
The cottage front door opens onto the 1st floor, an entrance hall with cloak room WC, through to a fully equipt kitchen with dining table & four chairs, oven, hob, extractor hood, microwave, toaster, kettle, larder fridge, freezer, washing machine, iron & ironing board. The lounge with widescreen LCD TV, FreeSat, DVD player & games console. Two large comfortable two seater sofas, chandelier, gilt mirror over mantle, coffee table & lamps, a selection of books & board games. French doors lead onto the raised balcony with a bistro set to enjoy the panoramic sea views.
Downstairs the gound floor of the cottage comfortably sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms, the master double bedroom has magnificent sea views there is also a twin bedroom and family bathroom with WC, wash basin and bath with shower over, the back door has access to the private garden with large decking area for sunbathing and boat spotting, patio furniture & parasol available. So relax and enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine while soaking up the warm sun looking out to sea watching the boats and the world sail by. (Views can be enjoyed from the sofa or sitting up in the master bed!)
On the road unrestricted parking is available opposite the cottage and there is further free parking a few yards up the road.

The Isle of Wight is just 23 miles by 13. However, in this space it offers over 60 attractions and over 500 miles of footpaths and bridleways, large areas of open downland and some of the most beautiful beaches and coves in England. It does not matter what time of year you visit or your age group, there is always something to see and do.
AROUND THE ISLAND
Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill Country Park theme parks
St Catherine's lighthouse
The Needles Park and Alum Bay
Godshill and Model Village
Ventnor Botanical Gardens
IOW Steam Railway
Owl and Monkey Haven
Sandown Zoo & Dinosaur World
Amazon World...... And more!
Ventnor on the South of the Isle of Wight is a traditional seaside resort, and one of Britain's most famous Victorian health resorts due to its unique micro-climate. The town lies beneath St Boniface Down (the highest point on the Isle of Wight) and for the most part is built on the side of a steep hill leading down to the seafront and beach.
Things to do
Ventnor has plenty of things to see and do both in the town and nearby. Ventnor Beach is a great suntrap, and the sand and shingle beach is great for sunbathing and family swimming. The beach huts that line the back of the beach are converted Victorian “bathing machines” and are available to hire, along with deckchairs. Ventnor Harbour and the bandstand development are very prominent on the seafront and offer a great viewing platform to look out to sea, and the Ventnor Haven Fishery sells the best in local crab and lobster.
On the main promenade there is a traditional arcade with a range of amusements, then opposite the harbour the spectacular Cascade Gardens run down the side of the cliff where the main road zig-zags its way back up into the main town. Further along there is a children's paddling pool which features a giant map of the Isle of Wight, and from here there are great walks to Wheelers Bay and Bonchurch along the Sea Wall.
A short distance from the seafront at the Western side of the town you can stroll through Ventnor Park, which leads onto the famous Ventnor Botanic Gardens where the town's micro-climate can be truly appreciated in a 22 acre sub-tropical paradise. A short walk from here and you will discover one of the Isle of Wight's best kept secrets, Steephill Cove, which is one of the most relaxing beaches on the Island.
Places to eat
Along Ventnor esplanade there are several pubs, cafes and restaurants offering a variety of food and refreshments, with a number of alternative places to eat further into town. With the local fisheries there are some great fish and seafood options available at many of the eateries, and some of the local hotels are highly recommended for their fine dinging experiences.

Beautiful family home which caters for all needs. Parking is difficult however with limited spaces available on a busy main road.

"The "Wow Factor""
From the minute we walked in the front door this house has the "Wow" factor! The upside down renovation of sitting/bed rooms is brilliant. The rooms are big and decorated with pleasing subtlety. Everything was clean and beds very comfortable. Views are spectacular from the front of the house. The only suggestion is the addition of wifi would be gratefully appreciated as 3G connection is very poor on the IOW. We are very regular visitors to Ventnor as we have relations there-we have found our new "home from home"!!!! Thank you! It's a joy!!!

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house with amazing views. The house itself was like home from home, so comfortable and welcoming and incredibly well presented. The location was perfect for is to tour the Island from as we love Ventnor. Would highly recommend this area and property and would return in a heartbeat.
