The Veneto region

The Veneto lies in the northernmost sector of Italy ranging from the Dolomite mountains in the north to the Venetian Lagoon in the south. It is one of the most prosperous Italian regions with an area of 47,562sq km and a population of 4.5 million.

It has excellent road and rail links with the rest of Europe and international travel is facilitated by the three
airports in Marco Polo, Treviso and Verona. The highly successful medieval Venetian state arose out of the mercantile dynamism of the mainland cities of the Veneto, including, Padua, Maestre, Vicenza, as well as Verona, Treviso and the 'Old Lady of the Lagoon', Venice, who, in her prime, 'ruled much of the Mediterranean.

This rich history is evident everywhere in the Veneto where architecture, crafts, music, painting and theatre all reflect the multicultural influences of its former trading partners. And there are mountains to climb and Palladian villas to see!

Venice

Venice is unique! Unlike other cities it never disappoints and the piazza San Marco just beside the apartment is a good place to begin your tour. The Campanile, Doge's Palace, Torre dell'Orologio, Basilica San Marco, the Library, Museum and the Columns of San Marco and San Teodoro are the big attractions but so too are the impromtu concerts and gatherings and the wonderfully magic atmosphere in the world's 'largest drawingroom'.

“Awesome Location and lovely apartment”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2012

Our family of 4 (2 kids aged 4 & 7) had a fantastic stay at this apartment. The location is outstanding (just back from the St Marcs Clocktower), the apartment is really lovely and its also great value. Leonora (owner) is a pleasure to deal with - we highly recommend this place. One thing to consider is that there is no elevator and the aartment is on the 5th level. My wife was very concerned on arival (I intentionally didn't tell her), but once I got all of our luggage up (and then down at thew end), it rarely bothered us - god exercise! Also there is no wifi which can be a problem for some. The outlook from the balcony is great and the fact that you have a balcony is fantastic

“We love Venice!”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2012

We really enjoyed our second stay in this charming, well equipped and comfortable apartment - this time for our daughter's graduation trip. Its perfect location behind San Marco allows easy access to everywhere in the city - and beyond. San Marco at night is particularly attractive and has a great atmosphere once the daytrippers have left. The weather was glorious and allowed us to make lots of use of the lovely balcony - for breakfasts and our evening Bellinis - all ingredients bought locally! We love Venice and St Marks Residence and hope to return sooner rather than later. Thanks Leonora. DS&L.

“Marvellous”

Our second visit to this apartment which is situated just behind St Marks Square and is ideally located for sightseeing, restaurants, bars and shops. The accommodation is everything you would wish for, very well equipped and comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend.

“A TRUE DREAM”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2012

"Our stay in Venice was fabulous and the apartment marvelous. It was very elegant ,quiet, very clean, well maintained, nicely decorated and the terrace under the sun for our breakfast just a dream. It is conveniently located 200 meters from the place San Marco. there is a supermarket very close where we found everything. We went with the mummy of my partner who is an old lady 89 years old and she was saying to us all the time (even now) "I did'nt think I will be able to live a dream at my age" The 5th floor was not difficult at all to reach by step The connection with the airport is very easy with the direct shuttle bus with the stop close by the flat. The welcome at the arrival was perfect. the agency on charge contact us by email some days before our arrival and give us all the instructions. Thank you so much at the owner Eleonora for this great week end We can recommend this apartment strongly. Would definitely stay here again." Janick, Gareth and Olwen

“A little piece of heaven...”

Reviewed 12 Feb 2012

If music be the food of love play on. The wonderful orchestras that play in St Marks square are an arms length away from this delightful appartment. It has the feel of a country cottage in a bustling City. The terrace is a real bonus for eating sunbathing or, just listening to the sounds below. What a find. Am certainly paying a return visit.
