The Lazio region

Lazio, birthplace of two of mankind's greatest institutions, the Roman Empire and the Catholic Church, is dominated and largely defined by its capital, Rome. Since ancient Roman times the region has been an extension of the city, where noble Roman families created their own towns and the wealthy built their villas in the surrounding countryside.

Lazio is a treasure trove of the remains of age old civilizations: bridges, churches, towers, villas, monasteries, aqueducts, arches — the list is endless. To the north of Rome are Etruscan sites and the tombs of Tarquinia, founded in the 12th century BC. The ruins of Ostia Antica, a 4th century BC port city at the mouth of the Tiber are located west of the city, with delightful beaches nearby. East of Rome toward the mountains is Tivoli, a favorite retreat for the wealthy at the height of the Roman Empire. Visit the remains of Hadrian's Villa, completed in 134 AD, and the beautiful fountains and gardens of the Villa d'Este.

Vatican City

Roman Suite is in a very central position, a short walk from St Peter's Square (7 minutes), and the Vatican Museums (5 minutes), perfectly located to public transport (the bus terminal at Piazza Risorgimento, the Metro Line A is a 4 minute walk away) connects you to most of the artistic and historic attractions, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, which are all within easy walking distance.
In the neighbourhood you can also find numerous shops to meet your needs: bank, pharmacy, bars and restaurants.

“A great place for our anniversary weekend in Rome”

Reviewed 5 May 2015

A lovely, stylish apartment for two in a great block close to the Vatican. The host was lovely and welcomed us and looking after us during our stay. The room was immaculate. We greatly enjoyed having evening drinks on the rood garden, and also buying freshly baked bread from the bakery across the road.

Good morning, thank you for your review. We were happy to host you during your anniversary and that you enjoyed your short visit. Hope to see you back in rome. Best wishes

“Perfect Place to Stay - Location and Apartment”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2013

I rented the Roman Suite for 6 nights in mid September. The apartment is exactly as advertised. It was very, very, very clean and beautiful and quiet, except for some construction taking place in the back of the building at night, which was tuned out when I put on the AC fan. The location is perfect. You are only a 10-15 minute walk to Vatican, but you are away from crowds and tourist activity. Prati is a great neighborhood - perfect location, nice/quaint restaurants, safe, not to close and not to far from the center of things happening. Everything is easily accessible by Metro and walking. I enjoyed coming back to the apartment at the end of a busy day and/or night, because it was so nice. It was as if I was coming back to my own apartment at home - it felt good, comfortable, and safe. Elisabetta also had beautiful music available, so I would listen to it as I got ready to go out in the morning or evening. I would have a great cup of coffee in the morning, prepped by Emma the day before, and I always ended my nights with a glass or two of wine on the beautiful roof deck, which overlooked the neighborhood and also had a view of the Basilica, which was lit up at night - amazing to see. Also, many nights on my roof deck I could hear lovely sax music playing on the street or from a restaurant, not sure which. It wasn't loud at all, it was from a distance and so very nice, enjoyable, and relaxing. Another great plus, Emma. Emma let me know that she was always available to help, if needed, and she was. The few times that I needed recommendations on restaurants or transportation or directions, she was available to help. She was so very kind, nice, and sincere. Elisabetta is very lucky to have her. Just knowing that Emma was available provided a level of comfort, which I appreciated. Also, Elisabetta was very responsive when I was working out arrangements to stay at the apartment. She is very trustworthy, kind, and dependable. Traits I absolutely appreciate when traveling anywhere - thank you Elisabetta. I would recommend the Roman Suite during your visit to Rome. I have already told all of my friends about the Roman Suite, as it is a beautiful place to stay!! Elisabetta and Emma, thank you so much for making my experience a great one!! When I visit Rome again, I will definitely stay at the Roman Suite, if it's available. Dottie P.S. Getting to the Roman Suite from the Metro is easy. I made it hard upon my arrival, but Emma came to my rescue. It is actually very easy to get to.

“You dont need three coins in a fountain - just Rome and Roman Suite”

Reviewed 4 May 2013

Roman Suite is a brilliantly presented, warm, comfortable place to stay in Rome. Emma was endlessly helpful and thoughtful (she has great taste in music, kindly leqving so,e CDs for us to enjoy). My husband has celiac disease and needs gluten free food: Emma found us Celiachiamo, so we were able to have fabulous pasta, cooked with fresh ingredients, without any dietary worries. I wouldnt consider going anywhere else in Rome.

“Amazing Apartment”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2012

I have just retuned back from a 2 night stay at the Roman Suite and it was truly amazing. The apartment itself was lovely and the location was perfect. Emma was so helpful and very accommodating. All in all, our stay couldn't have been any better, I will definitely be returning.

“A stay suited for an Emperor.”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2012

Our stay at the Roman Suite was fantastic! Emma was an excellent host and the apartment was perfectly clean and adorably designed. We would fully recommend staying at the apartment on your next trip to Rome. It was a block away from the Vatican and a block away from a train station, so easy for tourist adventures. Great space and well kept, as well as having a host who helped with recommendations and printing of tickets. Have no complaints about our time at the apartment. Was an excellent value and fantastic accommodations.

“You HAVE to stay here. PERFECT”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2012

I am so glad we decided to Stay at the Roman Suite. It was the perfect base from which to explore Rome. It was clean, tidy and very very stylish. The owner Emma made our stay so enjoyable and memorable as she was so so so helpful, booking dinner and giving us hints and tips of where to go and eat. The Metro is just around the corner and you can walk to the Vatican. I could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. Loved it, I will definitely go back. It also has free wi-fi which makes booking tickets and looking up information in the evenings super easy.

“Great location, amazingly clean!”

We stayed at the Roman Suite for 5 nights altogether.. 3 nights as we arrived in Italy and 2 nights as we left. The Roman Suite, although small, was just the place we needed to rest in the evening. The bed in the master bedroom is a king size bed and is very comfortable. The sofa bed in the living room/kitchen area is perfect for young kids (ours are 3 and 5) but I would not recommend it for adults or teenagers as it might be a little small. Emma, our host is very welcoming and she went out of her way to provide us with a great breakfast every morning. The breakfast would include croissants, bread, Nutella, yoghurt, orange juice milk, jam and was welcomed by the entire family. What's great about it is Emma would stop by during the day to drop off the food and we were not bothered in the morning at all. The apartment is well equipped with two AC wall units in both rooms and during our stay the temperature outside rose to Celsius therefore the AC was a must. The bathroom is small but functional and again very clean. This apartment is located in the Pradi district, just a 5 minutes walk from the Vatican and a 10 minutes walk from Castel San Angel. Although we were travelling with young kids we managed to walk from the apartment to the Coloseo, Piazza Di Spanna and the Trevi Fountain. If you don't mind a good walk you don't even need to take the Metro to get around, although it is just a block away from the apartment. There is no balcony/patio in this apartment but you do have access to the terasse on the roof. There are no furniture out there but it would be easy to bring a couple chairs a nice bottle of wine and enjoy the view at night.

“Most beautiful city and excellent apartment”

Reviewed 5 Jun 2012

Having lived for more than a year in Rome I was looking for a place to stay where I would feel myself "at home". Having chosen "Roman suite - Bed & Breakfast" was the best thing I could do. It is called a bed and breakfast but in fact you have your own little apartment with a cute little kitchen and and an own door, if you want to come home late. The apartment is central and really close to the Vatican, the next metro station is near and so are the busses and trams. Inside it's really cosy and has a great bed for two. The owner of the apartment is a young women who is very nice and helpful. She cleans the apartment every day and brings the breakfast for the next day. *One day of our stay it was raining and supposing that we didn't go out, she wrote us a message asking us if she should come later to clean and fill up. Which was great!* If you want to see Rome without wanting to go to a hotel I can just recommend "Roman suite". Next time we will surely reconsider going there again!

“Best location in Rome”

Excellent location. Clean 1 bedroom apartment on 4th floor. Has elevator and all amenities. Very clean with breakfast included. Right next to Vatican/St. Peter's and metro stop.
