WIFI

We no longer have WiFi, due to its unreliability.... wind, storms etc.

However, since the recent changes in E.U. law, mobile internet connection works extremely well, and is now usually free with your mobile contract provider.

We were delighted to find we had an excellent internet connection.

Please contact us if you wish to have additional guests... or a dog.

THE HOUSE:-

A charming and traditional rustic farmhouse, with dovecote/pigeonnier, dating from 1760, is a house full of character situated in the heart of the Gorges de L'Aveyron - beautiful rivers, medieval towns, limestone cliffs and rolling hills.

Extremely spacious open-plan kitchen,dining and living room, with large wood burning stove (for use between November-March. T.V./DVD. (Freeview satellite ). The kitchen area is very well equipped.

Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and an excellent double sofa-bed. There is an adjacent shower room, and access to the back terrace.

Also has a wood burning stove, for use between November-March.

Bedroom 2 is a self-contained annexe with it's own entrance and large en suite shower room. There is a good quality double bed and lounge area with a very comfortable double sofa bed. No kitchen, but there is a dining table, fridge and electric kettle (Great if two couples/families are sharing the house).

Two terraces, back and front of the house, to make the most of the sun and privacy. Also 1/2 acre field available 2 min walk from the house.

Parking for two cars in front of the house.

Duvets and pillows are INCLUDED in the cost of rental.

LINEN and TOWELS are NOT INCLUDED in the cost of rental.

PLEASE replace any breakages with the same, or similar quality...thank you.

House to be left clean and tidy (including emptying bins and getting rid of bottles in the recycling area, in Varen or the parking area behind Lexos station. Also, dishes to be washed and put away. And fridge emptied.

Recycling and rubbish bins are easily accessed in the middle of the village.

- Car recommended, but shops, Saturday market, library/tourist information, excellent pharmacy, and Health Centre, bakery,, small supermarket, hairdresser and a good restaurant (overlooking the river) are within walking distance, in Varen.

TRAIN station is 30 min walk from the house. Trains to Toulouse (1 hour). NARBONNE, beautiful town/beach and Med!!, only 1 hour by train from Toulouse. (2 hours from Au Ciel Bleu, by car). 2.5 hours from Toulouse to Barcelona. 2 hours to Grussian and Cap'dage, by car, if you want a few days by the beach.

Varen is excellent for river swimming and paddling by the beach for small children.

There is an outstanding outdoor swimming pool in St Antonin, only a 5 minute walk from the centre of the town. This is a new pool, in a stunning location.

River swimming in Laguepie (15 mins drive)I is very popular.

Canoes for hire in St Antonin, truly invigorating and stunningly beautiful to sail through the gorge. Good value too, 15 euros per person for the day!

Bicycles for hire in St Antonin (Excellent cycle paths)

The cinema is very popular in St Antonin.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Joan (the owner) a message.

If Joan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
