This magnificent new villa (650 sq m) is set in extensive, beautifully landscaped grounds (285 000 sq m)! only 15 minutes from Alicante and a short drive from a lovely sandy beach. Immaculately furnished and finished to a very high standard, its spacious accommodation is perfect for large families or groups of friends and is within easy reach of many local attractions.
From the moment you enter the imposing iron gates and follow the winding driveway through glorious gardens, the splendour of this property is obvious. Either side of the driveway you'll find manicured lawns, lush palm trees, distinctive statues and exquisite stone fountains, softly illuminated at nightfall to create a magical ambience.
Santa Maria I shares these wonderful grounds with its sister property, Santa Lucia (www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/alicante/534805) , however each villa has its own stunning private pool with whirlpool section and vast stone sun terrace.
Designed along traditional Spanish lines with a hint of the Moorish influence so prevalent in this area, this striking, newly built property has been finished to a very high specification both inside and out. Rich ochre walls and cobalt-blue roof tiles that shimmer in the sunshine echo the colours of the surrounding landscape against the Mediterranean sky. A stunning stained glass dome crowns the central tower and provides an eye-catching ceiling feature above the sweeping wrought-iron staircase inside.
On the ground floor there's a fully fitted traditional kitchen and a smart open-plan lounge/dining room with plush sofas and an elegant dining suite. Patio doors open out onto a shaded terrace overlooking the pool where you can relax in comfortable outdoor sofas or enjoy an unhurried, Spanish-style lunch alfresco.
A second beautifully furnished lounge is located on the first floor with doors leading onto a spacious balcony. The six double or twin bedrooms are spread over the two floors, five with their own en suite bath or shower rooms and one with a separate shower room. All are immaculately presented, with classic furnishings and high quality fittings.
Piped music can be programmed to play in every room and on the lower ground floor there's an additional fitted kitchen, a cosy snug with a traditional fireplace and a games room, complete with pool table for chilled out evenings with friends.
Those looking to stay in trim during their stay will be delighted to discover a pathway around the grounds that's ideal for jogging and there's a multi-purpose court that can be used for tennis and other sports with a handy changing room and showers next to it.
The villa is located just 15 minutes from Alicante airport and a few kilometres from the lovely sandy beaches along this stretch of coastline. Nearby, you'll find the attractive city of Elche with its fascinating palm grove of over 200,000 palm trees and the striking blue domed Basilica of Santa Maria.
This superb property offers splendid accommodation for large families or groups of friends and can be rented along with its sister property, Santa Maria II, for groups of up to 24 guests. With their versatile accommodation they make a fabulous venue for those looking to mark a special occasion.

Year-round sunshine makes Costa Blanca an ideal choice for every type of villa holiday – whether you seek peace and relaxation, fun and recreation, or a perfect balance between the two.
The villa is between Elche and Santa Pola, in 20 minutes of a driving from the region center - the city of Alicante.

"A Spec-tacular Villa"
I booked this villa for a large group of friends with a mix of couples and singles. It suited our needs perfectly. We were met at the airport by our host who was very helpful and gave us advice where to visit and where the local shops etc were and a phone we could contact him for free. We went to some of the local bigger towns in the evening which does take a while but the taxis were not that expensive. If you do not speak Spanish our host again offered to help book us taxis as directions to the property are not that simple and we did have a one taxi get lost coming back late at night. The villa itself was immaculate. The grounds are well kept and is a large compound. The pool area is well suited for large groups and has external toilets and showers. Everything seems to have been thought of when they built the villa. All the rooms are different so suited our mixed group. We also found extras which were not even on the villa spec. For example if you have a audio lead the whole house and porch has individual speakers in it which means you can play music in the whole villa controlled from the living room. The villa on the whole has a high quality finish and with the tennis courts and pool table you could easily stay in the villa for a few days without being bored. When you do venture out you will need a car. Nothing is in walking distance unless you can just live off pomegranates which the villa is surrounded by fields of . A couple of supermarkets a short drive away had everything we needed for the week. The only issue we had with our stay was the hot water boiler broke. This meant we had no hot water for a day. This was fixed within 2 days and in the mean time we were given the keys to the villa next door which we had the option of moving into or just using the shower. So we just used those showers for the night and were given a couple of bottles of cava as a sorry. That was pretty much the only fault i have with the villa itself. The only reason i didnt give 5 stars was that the villa is quite remote and was perfect for relaxing by the pool and playing tennis though if you wanted to go out i the evening and have a drink it was not that easy to get around. If I could move this villa round the world i would stay in it every time.
