The Community of Madrid region

Madrid possesses a wealth of cultural attractions including the famous Art triangle - the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia museums. The historical centre is great for tapas and romantic walks. The zoo and Parque de Atracciones (theme park) will keep the kids delighted. The Retiro is also a great spot to relax or indeed have a shot at rowing on the lake. Madrid is very warm in high summer (normally around 35 to 40 degrees). We can tell you the best spots to visit, little-known restaurants, and give you all the information to organise excursions to Toledo, Segovia and El Escorial, historical cities an easy day trip away from La Casita

Valdetorres de Jarama

Nearby you can visit the local towns of Torrelaguna with its majestic cathedral and its famous 100 year old Casa Patata restaurant with its underground caves and bodegas. The different villages of the Sierra Norte such as Patones de Arriba, a village frozen in time with numerous restaurants and bars or Miraflores de la Sierra with its quaint shops and market squares are only a short drive away. A little further afield, stands the Monastery of El Paular and the mountain village of Rascafria or the medieval castle of Manzanares el Real. Whether your interests lie in gastronomy, history or art, in this area you will discover the authentic Spain!

“An enjoyable, relaxing holiday in an idyllic setting.”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2015

Pauline and Carlos met us at the airport and guided us to the Casita. The location is ideal- very private, but within easy driving distance of the town which has several cafes , restaurants and shops..There are lots of picturesque villages to be visited before returning to relax in the pool. At the casita there are several balconies where the peace of the surroundings can be enjoyed while sampling the local delicacies. The spacious house and grounds are ideal for a family or a group of friends to spend time together . What we liked least was the fact that we had booked for only a week---next time it will be longer!

“Fantastic villa !!!”

The villa is all you could possibly want for a family holiday AND MORE! The whole place is so very well thought out and the helpfulness of the owners are first class. Its equiped and arranged like you were going to move in and live there and indeed you dont want to go home ! The pool and the home cinema was a massive hit with our kids and the veggie garden right there to enjoy is unique if you love your cooking they are delicious. Many little places to go out via car within a 20/30 min drive away. Best holiday we have ever had. Thank you Pauline.

Thanks very much for your kind words! We´ll see you next year! All the best, Pauline & Carlos

“Fantastic villa, amazing holiday!”

We had a fantastic stay. We doubt we will ever find such a well presented villa. It has everything you could think of. The home entertainment system is excellent, as is the pool. We had a wonderful welcome with a fully stocked fridge. The villa is within easy reach of Madrid. Supermarkets are close by too. Would advise a sturdy car for the dirt track. Would thoroughly recommend. It offers truly exceptional value for money!

“100% recommendable and 1000 times better than the photos!”

I stayed with some friends at La Casita, a place in the countryside even though close to Madrid which offers absolutely everything you may want for a relaxing and different stay. Very nice construction, a perfectly equipped and comfortable villa with several terraces, nice pool, garden, vegetable patch, fireplace for BBQs, bikes at disposal etc. etc. We enjoyed very much all the possibilities of this upscale property as well as the generosity of the owners. The welcome kit with local products was a real nice detail. Special mention to Facundo: he teached us how to cook Gazpacho with "Casita vegetables" and was very helpful in general. Needless to say that I will come back!

“We will return!”

In more than 30 years of self-catering holidays, La Casita is the best-equipped and most thoughtfully presented property we've stayed in. A really lovely base from which to explore this part of Spain, which offers fascinating towns and villages and many interesting sights. Madrid is well within reach and has so much to offer ( use of the metro for getting around is recommended).

“What a great find! A real home from home with lots of space inside and out. Highly recommended.”

We've stayed in our fair share of holiday homes in France and Spain, but this one is definitely the best. 25 minutes from Madrid airport, and then we arrived in this beautiful house, with a great kitchen, lovely outdoor terraces with luxurious furniture to relax in. The outdoor space is huge, and the steel container that opens out to a chill out party pod was a fantastic addition. Facundo cooked us the best paella we'd ever tasted and we can't wait to go again.
