"Amazing Villa Caters for All"

We stayed at the lodge for a week in June. The villa is surrounded by pretty scenic views and the accommodation is amazing and caters for your every need. The owners, Rob and Jen, make you feel very welcome and offer first class hospitality; from advising on places to visit, introducing you to a selection of restaurants in the nearby area to providing fresh bread daily and delicious home baking/cooking throughout your stay. This villa comes highly recommended and makes for a truly relaxing break. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and meeting Rob, Jen and of course Dog Dog really made our holiday! Billy, Moira, Gillian, Linda and Ali xx

Thank you so much we thoroughly enjoyed you all staying and hope to see you again

"Best villa we've ever staeyd in."

We have just had a fantastic holiday at The Lodge. You couldn't ask for a more peaceful and beautiful location but with everything you need from a holiday within a short drive. The villa is extremely comfortable and well-equiped but what made it so special for us is the care, commitment and friendliness of the owners, Rob and Jen. They were not intrusive but it was good to know they were nearby in case we needed them. They deliver fresh bread every morning and Jen's delicious food (I've put on 10lbs) appears almost every day. I cannot recommed this villa highly enough. Turkey is a beautiful country but to see it based from such a fantastic location is the icing on the cake. We would cetainly go back.

We are glad you really enjoyed your stay. You are welcome back anytime

"Absolutely bloody brilliant......."

The four of us were nicknamed "the golden girls" - our 2 weeks stay at The Villa was absolutely brilliant - the weather was fantastic, the Villa and pool just ideal and both highly maintained by Rob! Jen also provided "meals on wheels" which was totally unexpected but very much appreciated and consisted of spring rolls, cakes, pies, eggs and fresh bread delivered daily - utterly moorish!! Jen and Rob are brilliant hosts, as was Min and of course Dog, Dog!! We had a few nights out together and they have truly become forever friends. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our stay at The Villa more than memorable. We will definitely try to do it all again next year........cant wait!!!! Jeannie

Jen and I really enjoyed the company of all of you. You made us all laugh so much. We can't wait for you to return next year. You even left the villa spotless.

"Fantastic top class villa in a traditional village"

Two weeks after returning from the Lodge in uzumlu we have spent most of my time wishing that we where still there. We had been to uzumlu before so we knew what to expect from the village. As we are from Scotland and flew from Manchester we had had a long night since 1 am flight delayed in manchester and arrived in Uzumlu at 4.30pm when we were greeted by Rob who showed us to the villa. At the villa we were shown round and I was amazed at the quality of the furnishings and the amount of provision that where there. It saved us having to go back out and do some shopping as it would have almost feed ius for a week. Rob and Jen where fantastic and brought us fresh bread every morning and food parcels throughout the holiday with beautiful home baking. Best sping rolls I have ever tasted. ( I am coming back just for them Jen) The villas does has everything you need including beach towls which is not always the case. To round up a fantastic villa with beautiful view in a quite location

We are so glad you enjoyed your holiday. We more than enjoyed you staying there and hope to see you in the near future.

"Wow, we didnt realise you could have an All Inclusive holiday villa"

My Husband & 2 children aged 10 & 5, along with my parents came to stay in May 2012 for 10 days, we had never booked a villa before and we had always booked our holidays through a travel Agents, so its fair to say we were a little nervous. Well we needn't have been because all our fears were quickly dispelled as soon as we saw firstly our private transfer waiting at the airport that Rob & Jen had arranged for us, and when we walked into the villa, well my childrens faces were a picture and their words were "wow mam its like a mansion". It is a truely beautiful villa literally home from home, everything you could possible want and need is here for you and more from the cd's, dvd's, games, books, dressing gowns, slippers, towels, pool inflatables, just way too much to mention. Rob would arrive every morning without fail with fresh bread from the village and other pastries that they may have baked that day and we used to love Jen's daily visits with freshly made spring rolls, apple tart, eccles cake, and lemon drizzle cake, she's a top cook and they are to die for. They are both truely lovely, kind, and thoughtful people who go out of their way to make sure your holiday is the best without being intrusive. The villa itself is very modern and is furnished to a beautifully high standard, The village itself is typically turkish and we loved everything about it, especially Eddie's Place, a little restaurant in the village who's owner Eddie speaks very good english and serves beautiful meals and drinks and would reccommend you pay a visit, also we used to hire a car from a car rental outlet in the village who's manager Ahmet would also be there as soon as you called him.+ We had a fabulous time at the villa and we cannot wait to go back to see our new friends

Thanks for the wonderful comments. You are welcome back anytime.

"Genuine Cockney charm!!!"

If the fantastic weather wasn't enough of a reason to return to Turkey, having stayed at several villas worldwide, The Lodge was a really pleasant surprise. It was absolutely spotless, very stylish and spacious. The pool area was maintained daily to a very high standard without us ever being disturbed. Our initial concerns that the pool was overlooked amounted to nothing. The villa is set in a very peaceful location with the village a short drive away and only about 30 mins to Fethiye so a car is preferable. Rob and Jen were attentive without being intrusive. Their hospitality, thoughtfulness and humour ensured our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and the comprehensive welcome pack was a unexpected bonus. We very much look forward to returning to The Lodge for another relaxing stay.

thanks Ian and Jo for your kind words. It was a pleasure for us aswell. Hopefully see you next year

"All Inclusive Villa Holiday!"

Well this villa, The Lodge, definitely deserves the ratings/reviews received so far. My husband and I have just returned from a superb week there and I can honestly say that the villa and amenities surpassed our expectations and we are usually quite hard to please! As we drove from the airport to Uzumlu I was beginning to wonder if we had made the right decision choosing a villa in a small traditional mountain village and as we were met at the petrol station for the final leg of the upward journey taken through the village square I thought, oh no we are in the middle of nowhere. How wrong I was. The village may be small and traditional but there are plenty of bars and restaurants to keep you busy. The people are all warm and friendly. The quality of the food was good and the prices extremely reasonable. There are a number of English ex pats living in and around the village so although you are away from the tourist spots there is still a nice familiar feeling when you are out and about. As for the Villa itself, this is to date our top rated Villa holiday. There are so many touches and niceties that combine to make it absolutely too notch. Firstly, the pictures we viewed upon booking just do not do it justice. The scenery is wonderful, the surroundings peaceful and the quality of the furniture and fittings were much better than we imagined. Everything that you can think of is already there for you including luxurious pool towels, travel plugs, phrase books, maps, CDs, DVDs, books, both a Playstation and a Wii and a huge number of games for each. Jenny even gave us a sheet with currency, distance and clothes size conversions for information. Inside and out is immaculately clean including the pool which is crystal clear. Having stayed in many villas as the week progresses you sometimes notice the pool becomes a bit murky. Not at The Lodge, it was clean and clear all week and although a little cold when you first get it, a welcome relief to the hot weather once you have swum up and down a couple of times. One of the most impressive things however, is the unbelievable ‘welcome pack’ that awaited our arrival. I have never seen anything like it. The fridge was stocked and there was an additional hamper with groceries that in combination ensured we hardly did any other shopping during our stay apart from more water, alcohol and sun tan lotion. And, as if that wasn’t enough we were also treated to the daily bread run with gorgeous fresh baked bread and croissants and to Jenny’s superb cooking which in our case included apple pie, spring rolls and Eccles cakes – yum yum. Rob and Jenny’s hospitality is amazing. They are always on hand if you need them but never overly intrusive. They always offered to let us follow them if they were going out to the beach or Fethiye so we wouldn’t get lost. They gave us the run down on all the local eateries, bars and local high spots. It was really a genuine pleasure to meet them and their lovely daughters and to spend time with them and at their lovely villa. As fellow Londoners we truly felt at home at The Lodge and we would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends and really do hope to return again soon for another visit. Thanks Rob & Jen for a wonderful time. Ruth & Martin

Thank you so much for your kind words.we are so glad you enjoyed yourselves so much and are welcome back anytime.

"Would we come back here? The answer is a resounding and unreserved ‘yes’!"

I suppose the ultimate test of how much we enjoyed ourselves would be to ask the question, ‘would we come back here?’ The answer is a resounding and unreserved ‘yes’! We’ve stayed in several villas over the years and I can quite honestly say that The Lodge has ticked more boxes than any other. As Turkey virgins, even right from before we arrived at the villa, when a cheerful Rob met us on the outskirts of Üzümlü at 3 in the morning to help us find our way, things were looking distinctly rosy. Walking through the front door, we’re immediately struck by the quality of the villa and the luxuriously appointed rooms, even as weary night-time travellers. Waking up the following morning to crystal clear azure skies, we check out the kitchen to find the overflowing ‘welcome pack’ and a generously stocked fridge. Moving on to the lounge, we find a plentiful entertainment provision in the form of local satellite TV, numerous DVDs and CDs, a Playstation 2 and Wii plus games, topped off with Scrabble, books and jigsaws. The lounge doors open on to the swimming pool and its welcome shaded seating, and glancing right we’re faced with the stunning mountainous backdrop accompanied by that gloriously tranquil silence - we all know this is going to be a good week. ‘Hello’, a man’s voice calls and there he is, Rob, dangling his daily bag of bread fresh from the village. Can this really get any better? Well, the answer to that one is also a very definite ‘yes’. One wouldn’t normally associate the term ‘hospitality’ with holiday villas, yet The Lodge has proved the exception. Having such lovely hosts, Rob and Jen, living next door and being so attentive without in any way being intrusive was a huge plus. I mean, there we were, sitting starry-eyed by the pool at lunchtime on the first day, about to tuck into Rob’s fresh bread and there’s Jen, armed with a plateful of freshly-made spring rolls. Over the course of the week we were treated to many more of her culinary delicacies, from apple pie and tomato flan to lemon drizzle and Eccles cakes. Their unwavering cheery outlook and nothing’s-too-much-trouble approach topped off what has proved to be the perfect chill-out family holiday and the ideal antidote to the recent riots and sense of pervading gloom back home. Action-filled coastal resort or get-away-from-it-all hillside villa, it just depends on what you’re looking for. For us it was definitely the latter, even though three of our party were students. We noticed that the early September heat 500 metres up in the hills was clearly tempered by a few degrees, that and the gentle breeze making its 30° that much more comfortable for sun-lovers. Having said that, sun lotions are still obligatory and, of course, if you find yourself getting too hot, just slip into the pool or take some time-out in the shelter of the comfortable poolside seating after a quick foray to the fridge for that ice-cold water or throat-biting beer. One very big plus for this time of year was the surprising absence of any insects, to the extent that sitting outside after dusk was the norm, whilst doors and windows could still be left open, as the air-conditioning wasn’t essential – the tally by the end of the week was just two bites between the four of us and one of those was from a disgruntled cricket that misinterpreted my good intentions! Of course, eating out on this type of holiday is mandatory and, as luck would have it, Üzümlü has at least four reasonable restaurants around the village square and a fifth on the outskirts of the village itself, quite something for such a small community. My own recommendations would be for the Winery and the other one, whose name escapes me, but can be found in the square itself with illuminated stairs leading up to a rustic eatery set in the owners’ garden – just don’t be put off by the public loos immediately below! The village itself is about 2 kilometres from the villa, so unless you’re planning on rapidly working off all of Jen’s good food, a rental car is recommended. For this, Pegasus Rent-A-Car came up with the best deal, though you’d be advised to avoid Fiats, which seem to struggle with all but the flattest of gradients. Whilst you can go into Fethiye for provisions - Kipa alias Tesco is about 15 minutes’ drive away - there are plenty of small local grocers that can provide the necessities and these are what we used. With so many historical sites and beauty spots on the tourist map to visit and the nearest beach and nightlife only 20 minutes away, yet in the end, apart from a morning trip to the blue lagoon at Ölüdeniz, we found we were more than content with the villa retreat and everything it had to offer. Thanks so much, Rob & Jen, you’re a credit to the holiday villa rental industry and we hope our return won’t be too far away… always assuming there are any vacancies left after these well-earned reviews make The Lodge THE destination of choice!

A pleasure having you stay here. You are welcome back anytime

"The best villa we ever stayed in spotlesley clean and very homely"

My wife, children aged 13 and 21 and I stayed here for two weeks at the end of July beginning of August 2011. We have stayed in nice villas before but this exceeds them all due to the fact it was spotless inside and out, a superb hamper was there on our arrival also everything that you may need or might have forgotten seemed to be there travel plugs, beach towels, playstation for the children with lots of games, DVDs, I can go on and on. The owners live close by so anything you may need can be sorted out immediately as nothing seemed to be to much trouble their only interest seemed to be that you are on holiday and they would do their best to make sure you enjoyed yourself including delivering fresh bread every morning! The pool was perfect and checked daily, there is a large shaded area by the pool with a table and chairs to eat outside and sofas all out of the sun, sun loungers and umbrellas are set up around pool for those of you who want that perfect tan. I can only say that we enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked again to stay here next year.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting your family. We were both upset when you all went home. What a lovely family and im glad you enjoyed the villa. You arer always welcome.
