5 bedroom, aircon villa, sleeps 10, with spectacular views over Unawatuna bay. 50ft infinity pool. All meals at cost of ingredients. 10 minutes walk to beach or free daily tuk tuk. 4G wifi with up to 5Gbs/day usage included, Satellite TV, books and games. All bedrooms have ensuite, aircon, fan and mosquito nets. Access to next door land with large granite pond and great wildlife. Full covid refund. The space

Perched high on a clifftop, the Far Horizons is a 5 bedroom villa that enjoys spectacular views by day and night over the bay of Unawatuna and the ocean beyond. This listing is for exclusive use of the whole villa and includes food shopping and preparation. There are separate listings for a basic self catering option and for groups of up to 14.

Situated just 10 minutes walk from the beach, down a path and steps past a temple (or about 15 minutes walk by the road), the villa is located at the edge of a small village community at the top of a steep and bumpy hill. You can dip in and out of the shops, restaurants and nightlife of Unawatuna as you wish, while enjoying a quieter and more authentic experience of Sri Lanka than in resort accommodation. We also offer a free daily tuk tuk down to Unawatuna or Wijaya beach.

Our villa manager, Upul, speaks excellent English. He will arrange everything for you and will prepare all your meals and shop for you as required. All dietary requirements and preferences can be catered for. Meals are not included in the rental price, but the only additional cost is for the ingredients and transport, so you can eat what you like. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol and drinks.

Airport transfers, local transport and all sightseeing requirements can be arranged on request. All guests will receive a fact sheet of information about the area, with sightseeing and activity suggestions, prior to their visit.

All our staff are double vaccinated.

A maximum of 2 children using cot beds or sharing a bed with parents may stay free of charge. A child using a separate bed is classed as a guest. We have 2 cot beds, 2 baby feeding chairs and a playpen.

Smokers are welcome, but outdoors only, please.

Our standard policy is that the deposit is non-refundable, but if payment has been made in full, then 50% is refundable up to 7 days before arrival. However, if your group is prevented from travelling by a change in government covid regulations, we will refund your accommodation payment in full, up to 7 days before arrival. Alternatively we will credit your payment against a future stay within 12 months. Your choice.

Please note that guests should have their own travel insurance to cover them against medical and other issues.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the whole villa, pool and garden.

Wheelchair access is possible to the ground floor. The cardamom and cinnamon rooms, lounge, kitchen, dining and veranda area are on a single level and the pool area is linked to the main house by a grassed, sloping path as well as steps. Further details are available on enquiry.

Guests may also have access to land next door with large granite pond full of fish frogs, turtles. Great wildlife viewing, but children must be supervised, as the land is a work in progress.

Whenever possible, we will greet guests on arrival and come back to say goodbye. For the rest of the time you will be in the capable hands of Upul & Piumi, who can arrange anything and everything to make your stay enjoyable. However, we are normally nearby in case of any problems and will always be contactable by phone and email.

How do damage deposits work?
