Orchard Cottage is secluded and set in open countryside adjoining the owners' home. Beyond the cottage garden, the property enjoys panoramic views of the local countryside and the distant Lakeland fells.
The pine kitchen leads into a light and spacious living area with pine ceilings and maple floors. A feature fireplace made with local green slate houses a wood-burning stove: ideal for those cosy nights by the fire.
At the other end of the cottage is the dining area, where meals can be enjoyed overlooking the apple orchard and views. The double bedroom opens onto the wooden sun deck, complete with garden furniture, which looks out across the property's private field.
With a double bed the cottage is ideally suited for a couple. However, there is a sofa bed which could accommodate a second person or a child. The property includes a small wet room with toilet, shower, and small wash basin. Please see our photographs to appreciate the layout and proportions and do not hesitate to send us an email if you have any questions.
Orchard Cottage offers free WiFi. Linen is provided as are hand towels and tea towels; we ask that you bring your own bath towels. Logs for the fire are provided. Laundry facilities are available should you require.

"The perfect place for peace, relaxation and rest."
I have stayed at Orchard Cottage for about three weeks every year for the past thirteen years. It is quiet, comfortable, in a beautiful setting and the owners, Brian and Jenny are the kindest and most hospitable of hosts, willing to go beyond most people would, to make guests comfortable. It is where I spend my spring and summer holidays. Highly recommended!
Thank you very much for your feedback Kay. It is always a pleasure to welcome you back. We are having all the double glazing replaced this month so the views will be clearer for you next time. We will certainly be looking to upgrade the television as soon as we can too. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

"LOVELY, COSY PERFECT GETAWAY"
I came for a weekend stay with my boyfriend and it was a really cosy cottage, surrounded by private fields and an apple orchard. Jenny the owner of the cottage was very welcoming and hospitable and made us feel right at home, the cottage was tidy and homely and we especially liked the log fire after a day out. It was lovely and peaceful but not far away from Barrow, which has shops and places to eat. Not far from Lakes wildlife park, and Ulverston is a nice little town with some shops, and places to eat and nice pubs. We had fish and chips from Ulverston and they were beautiful!
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for our very first Trip Advisor review! We hope to welcome you back soon.
