Description from owner
Beach House is one of the original fishing cottages on the shores of Ullapool. The house has remained in the same family for over 100years and consists of two adjoining cottages with the owners living next door so we are on hand to welcome and assist you with your stay.
Beautifully re-furbished the house boasts two master en-suite bedrooms which may be arranged with super king or single beds and a large decked balcony on the first floor, overlooking the Summer Isles.
The ground floor has a modern fully equipped kitchen/diner and sitting room with a patio and bbq to the rear.
The house leads directly on to the beach and a boat storage area with your private car park.
Ullapool is a great base for exploring the Highlands and Islands or to just relax and enjoy the village and surroundings.
Originally founded as a fishing port, the village retains a connection with the sea, local boats land prawns in the evenings, larger boats come into port from the Atlantic and their catch is highly prized both locally and around the world.
The ferry to Stornoway and the Outer Herbides operates from Ullapool Harbour, in the summer time 3 sailings a day mean you can visit the Hebrides in a day. Local tour boats visit the bay and Summer Isles encountering sea birds, seals, eagles, whales and dolphin.
Local bars, takeaways and restaurants serve much of what is landed locally and reared nearby. As well as great food, many of the bars put on music and entertainment ranging from traditional to contemporary, and there is a great atmosphere and lots of fun to be had in the evenings.
The village also hosts a number of festivals, music, book, dance, beer and guitar, as well as having a number of art galleries and studios.
The surrounding hills, mountains, glens and coast mean we are surrounded by wildlife as well as places to walk, climb, cycle and explore. A short drive north takes you into Coigach, Assynt and the north west GeoPark with some of the most spectacular peaks and geology in the world. South, Corrieshalloch Gorge will take your breath away and a drive along the coast passes some beautiful beaches and lovely wee villages for a day out and bite to eat.
The village is small enough to explore on foot with ease. There are regular bus links to Inverness and also buses north to Achiltibuie and Lochinver.
There are walks to Rhue Point, along the Ullapool River and up the hill behind the village that can be reach without driving. Having your own transport means you can explore further afield and there are many walks of all level to take you out into the hills and unspoiled Highland environment to take in the views and fresh air as well as encounter deer, eagles and other wildlife that is often found nearby.
If you have canoes, kayaks or your own small boat, a jetty is available in the village for launching and we have beach access from the house as well as mooring facilities by arrangement.
There are rods available in the house to fish from the beach.

- How do damage deposits work?
In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Brigitte (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
