Description

East Rhidorroch Estate is 9,600 acres of remote and unspoilt Scottish Highland landscape, which is all there for you to enjoy. See Red deer roaring (in September/October), the Salmon jumping and the Eagles flying. Fly fishing for wild brown trout and salmon on the river and the three lochs with boats is included. After a day on the hill, enjoy the new wood fired sauna. Thanks to the surrounding hills, there is no mobile phone reception.

So just switch off and enjoy the company of friends or family. It's a perfect escape from modern life

We are an Organic family run farm, we make our own electricity and try to be Eco friendly.

The private road is 8 miles long, 6 miles of it is gravel (and potholes). Driving down to the village takes approximately 30 minutes. Drive carefully.

No Internet TV or mobile phone reception in the glen. - A natural digital detox.

Your own car is essential to explore and enjoy the area. You can hire easily from Inverness city or the airport.

Interaction with guest

We will meet and greet you on your arrival and show you around the Lodge. If you would like to spend time on the farm with me I will be more than happy and introduce you to the animals. I will show you maps and great walks in the area. I can help with local interests and sights. However, if you want privacy then this is the perfect place. I will be around if you need anything, just ask.

“Lovely week”

Just back from a week spent at the East Riddoroch Lodge. Beautiful setting - quite remote - a very bumpy half an hour journey down the track back to Ullapool! The lodge itself was full of character and original features - we especially enjoyed the games room and it's interesting decoration! Lots of walking straight from the door and two lochs nearby with the use of rowing boats (and life jackets). The owners were lovely and friendly, always ready for a chat and didn't mind the kids pestering the 3 dogs, 4 horses and multiple chickens! All in all a fantastic weekend spent with friends.

Our family have been staying here for nearly 30 years and it just gets better every time. Set in the most beautiful landscape on Earth, the lodge is a retreat for us all and we have already booked to come again next year. With 76 years between the oldest and youngest family member on this trip, the place has everything to offer all ages and inclinations. Trout fishing, rowing on the loch, golden eagles, breathtaking walks, sublime seafood, excursions by boat to watch puffins, treks to Smokey Falls, an outing to Inverewe Gardens, family hysterics, overnight stay in the bothy, amazing catering by Bella, Iona and Julian... We just can't recommend this place highly enough!
