Description from owner

Bay View Apartment is located on the attractive Sea View Complex and really does offer a holiday with a view!

The accommodation is modern and stylish with all mod cons provided to ensure that you have a relaxing and stress free holiday. There are only six apartments on the complex, so it is never busy but always calm.

In the apartment itself, there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms (the master bedroom is en suite with a jacuzzi bath). The lounge is spacious with an open plan kitchen. Large patio doors open out onto the lower balcony and make the most of the wonderful view over Turunç bay.

Turunç is often called the Pearl of the Aegean and is a charming fishing village. It has remained fairly untouched by the impact of mass tourism and is a quiet and friendly place to have your holiday. The beach has clear blue water and is the proud holder of a Blue Flag Award.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, without the boom-boom of loud bars and definitely no "kiss me quick" tourists,

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

Turunc village is one of the best kept secrets along the Aegean coast. It is in a stunningly beautiful bay - surrounded on one side by pine forested mountains - and on the other side by the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea.

The village has been welcoming visitors for the last 15 years and there are many people who return year after year to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Turkish people.

The weather in Turunç is warm and sunny from the end of March until the end of November. In the high summer the temperatures are hot and perfect for sun worshippers. The beach is a mixture of sand and shingle and has a gentle rake, making it ideal for children. The sea is amazingly clear and Turunç is the proud holder of the Blue Flag Award for maintaining and promoting beach and sea cleanliness.

If you wish to be more active than just sunbathing on your holiday, then there are many watersports available along the beach. From water skiing to the banana boat! Lunch can be taken at one of the many beachside restaurants and bars.

Eating out in Turunç is a pleasure when there are so many restaurants to choose from. Many offer traditional Turkish food such as mezes and kebabs, with perhaps some baklava and Turkish coffee to finish! The prices vary with the style of restaurant - from the cheap and cheerful to the more up market and formal. Locally caught fish is aways available on the menu.

The nightlife is based around the bars. Some of these have dancing until the small hours for those with energy after a hard day on the beach.

There are plenty of day trips to visit the surrounding area and boat trips can be taken to explore along the beautiful coast. These can be booked from several of the tour operators on the main street, but our favourite is Green Idyma Travel Agency.

If you feel like some raunchier nightlife then Marmaris and Içmeler are just a 40 minute bus ride away. These bigger towns also have more choice for shopping and bargain hunting amongst the markets.

Turunc

The wealth of archaeology in Turkey is almost embarrassing with its abundance of Greek, Roman, Lycian, Carian and Ottoman sites. The best known of these is Ephesus (called Efes in Turkey). Day trips to Efes can be booked from Turunç and the trip is usually combined with a visit to the final home of The Virgin Mary.

The small settlement of Amos is near to Turunç and it has a small amphitheatre and a temple to explore (but you'll need good sturdy shoes as it is overgrown). The reward for your perseverance is the wonderful view over the bay out towards Marmaris and Dalyan and of the wide sweeping bay of Kumlubuk to the south.

If ancient history isn't your thing, then there is a small water park in Marmaris which offers a fun family day out. Although to be fair, when we visited last year, the "grown-ups" probably enjoyed it more than the children........! Trips around the Bozburun Peninsula can be taken in a jeep, which gives you the chance to have fun as you watch the scenery go by.

The Holy Muslim month of Ramazan (known as Ramadan in the UK) will be from 18th June to 17th July in 2015. From the 18th July there is a three day period of celebration and feasting, known as Seker Bayram (or Sugar/Sweet Holiday). It is a great time to be in Turkey to experience the renowned Turkish hospitality at its best.

“Wonderful Home from Home”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2013

fabulous apartment with everything you could wish for and more. thank goodness for the air conditioning and the water cooler which really was a gift from god. would very happily come again and again, almost had the pool to ourselves over the 10 days. only downside if there is one is the climb back up the hill !!! Go to Bondjuk for at least one meal and sample the Bondjuk salad - fantastic.. Jimmy the host is a lovely man and very knowledeable about the area. can honestly say didnt have one bad meal for the duration. Debbie is readily available when needed. All in all a great holiday.

“Charming Turunc”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2012

We spent a wonderful holiday in turunc staying at the beautiful Bay View Appt on the sea view complex. A very high spec appartment with wonderful sea and mountain views. Well maintained and serviced by Debbie and Jimmy who are always on hand to help. A great pool area, but be warned the pool is deep and accessed from the appartment by quite a few steps. We didn't find it any bother. This goes for the slope up to the appartment from the village which is only a very short walk away. The village itself is well serviced with excellent restaurants and just the right amount of shops. The beach is lovely and the sea clean and blue.

“Quality accommodation - wonderful sea view.”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2011

The apartment was very clean, tastefully furnished and spacious. Everything we could possibly need was provided for us. The pool was lovely although not suitable for small children as there is no shallow end. There was an information folder in the apartment which had been thoughtfully prepared and was extremely helpful regarding restaurants, trips and local knowledge etc. Debbie arranged our transfer to and from the airport and this worked very efficiently. There was also a very helpful water delivery service which meant we didn't have to carry heavy water bottles up the hill which was quite steep. The beach was rather crowded in parts with sunbeds and needed a bit of a clean up regarding cigarette ends etc. However there was a daily taxi boat to the next bay, Kumlubuk, where the beach was quieter and cleaner. The restaurants recommended by Debbie all proved to be excellent quality and value for money. All in all Debbie and Jimmy provide a service second to none.

“A fabulous apartment in a beautiful situation”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2011

This is one of the best equipped apartments we have ever stayed in with everything you could possible want and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The view from each balcony is spectacular and even though it is close to the main route into Turunc, it was very quiet. This also has the advantage of the Dolmus stopping directly outside the apartment. We took the boat to Marmaris one day and after enjoying the old town and harbour, stocked up at the huge supermarket and returned by Dolmus virtually door to door. To get the views of course there is a hill to climb from the beach and the town but it is only a short distance and the water deliveries organised by Debbie who manages this apartment certainly helped in this respect. There is a path directly opposite which takes you straight down to the quiet end of the beach, where there are also good restaurants - Kavala was a favourite. Our only gripe was that we had only booked one week and were elsewhere for the second week - we will definitely be back for 2 weeks next time.

We are so glad that you appreciated the water delivery service and that you enjoyed your stay at Bay View. We think it is a lovely apartment and it is good to have our opinion backed up by your kind words. Hopefully, we will see you again soon.
