From the owner

An architect designed rural retreat built with local wood and stone at the foot of the mountains in the Slieve South facing into the mountains the woodlandsong maximises on light and views. Built at the foot of the mountains in the Slieve Bloom Environment Park. An open plan siting room and gallery loft gives a sense of space and flow to this section of the house. Designed to maximse on light and views with a south facing aspect into the mountains. Two sitting rooms one upstairs and one downstairs and two open fires. Three bedrooms and an open gallery bedroom space.

There are over one and a half acres of landscaped garedens with a stream running through it. We have a boardwalk meandering through the trees. . The lack of light pollution mean the stars from the back lawn can be spectacular. Many decks and places to stop and enjoy the view. Fire pits and a barbeque for cook outs herbs are planted around the house . We have recently added a bbq hut to the garden by the stream which can sit eight.

We have been letting our home out for five years and have had some very positive feedback in our guest book with visitors from every continent. We are in the heart of theSlieve Bloom Mountains in the Environment Park.. You can see deer, falcons, pine martens which are exclusive to the area, toads, badgers, endangered pipistrel bats and field mice. One guest says he saw a kingfisher by our stream. We keep the house well and it has been known for a bat to fly in through an open window and field mice are curious. We have never had house visits from peegrine falcon or deer.

The Slieve Blooms make a great base for touring as they are literally in the hear of the counrty. We have many maps and local walks for you to explore this unspoilt and relatively undiscovered part of Ireland.

We are flexible and just ask that guests respect the space, There is a lake, stream and plunge pool in the garden and just so children have to be supervised at all times and are under the care of their parents or guardians while at Woodlandsong.

How do damage deposits work?

If Michael (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
