Bear Lake Reserve, a Lake side Resort: Bear Lake Reserve, has all the amenities you expect in a resort community from dining to outdoor adventure or relaxing by the pool at the Lake Club. Play golf at the Jack Nicklaus designed 9 - hole golf course, rental clubs available at the fully stocked pro shop. Tennis available, bring your rackets. Hike on 15 miles of well maintained natural trails. Trail guides are available, with useful information, learn about the natural environment and history. Enjoy the uncrowded clear mountain lakes, Bear Creek Lake and Cedar Cliff Lake. Rent a pontoon boat or enjoy free use of a variety of paddle boats. Some of the best fly fishing in NC on the streams feeding into Bear Creek Lake. You can also use the Resort's kayaks or canoes to reach the base of a 80 foot cascading waterfall, only accessible by boat. If you are a nature lover and enjoy hiking, we can provide detailed information on hiking in Panthertown Valley and other unique hikes in the Nantahala National Forest.
