“The perfect honeymoon location”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2013

Myself and my husband stayed in Tony and Angela's lovely apartment for our week long honeymoon. Their very helpful agent, Lorraine met us in Pizzo and showed us the way to the Marasusa complex from there. Car hire is a necessity as the apartments are situated quite a walk up a very steep hill from the nearest village. The apartment complex is beautifully maintained with lovely gardens and the pool area with views over the sea and as far as the volcano of Stromboli is a delight. The apartment itself was perfect for the two of us with everything you could need in it and plenty of lovely extras also such as a bbq on the balcony and beach towels and a portable parasol. We spent most evenings sitting out on the balcony watching the amazing sunsets and relaxing with a bottle of wine. The owners, Tony and Angela also very kindly left us a lovely bottle of bubbly for our honeymoon and we found the book with all their recommendations for places to visit to be very helpful. The village of Paraghelia where the apartment is situated is a lovely small village with a couple of nice pizza restaurants and ice-cream bars. Tropea is only 2 kilometres away and is a lovely old town to spend a few hours wandering around and there are some lovely restaurants and bars there. Overall I would definitely recommend the apartment as a lovely holiday location with everything you could need and want and we hope to be back very soon.

We are so pleased you had such a lovely relaxing time. Thank you for your kind comments.

“Wonderful Romantic holiday destination - stunning views - a beautiful place”

Thank you for letting us use your lovely apartment in Marasusa The weather was lovely 28C and apart from an overnight rain storm the sun shone bright every day - which is great for October. We explored the area and managed to find many wonderful beaches - the sea is so blue and clear and the people very friendly - its a great time to visit not many tourists around. The apartment is really lovely and the views from the balcony just amazing - we enjoyed a few glasses of wine watching the sunset. You provided so many little extra's which we really appreciated and we found the apartment to be very comfortable and homely - the room is bright and airy with high cielings and there was a nice breeze coming in from the balcony so we had no need to use the air conditioning( although it is provided). - just right for us to chill and relax in after a long day out. The beds are very comfortable and the linen and towels good quality. The booking process is very simple and the Meet and Greet service provided is very good. Marasusa is a very beautiful place with stunning views and lovely gardens - we enjoyed a walk down into Parghellia the sleepy little village at the bottom of the mountain - there are some lovely little cafe bars and a couple of family run restaurants serving lovely food at very reasonable prices. Tropea is amazing full of atmosphere and history a great place for a lively night out - we found some very good restaurants and bars and it is not over priced as some of the more well known places in Italy - and the people more friendly A car or motor scooter is advisable as there are so many lovely places to visit. We had an AMAZING holiday and we wish you well and thank you again for the Marasusa experience. Looking forward to next time.

“Lovely apartment and lovely views.”

The whole booking process was simple. Lorraine, the agent in Italy was very efficient and made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her team. We had a lovely fortnight here. The weather was fantastic. The apartment is compact but has everything you could possibly need in terms of equipment and comfort. Our son joined us for a week and whilst it was tight we managed. It is perfect for two people. The views from the apartment are stunning and the complex itself is very well cared for. The gardens are superb. We enjoyed the use of the beautiful pool too. There is plenty to do around and about but you do need a car. The hill to the nearest village would be too much of a climb having purchased the morning bread! Tropea is a great town for wandering around and there are many good eating places for the evenings there. A trip to Stromboli is a must. We even managed a long day to Sicily to see Mt Etna too. There are plenty of places to visit and the beaches are lovely but you have to get there early to park in the height of season anyway. A great fortnight and I am sure we will return. “amazing - spectacular - wow factor in every way”

we holidayed at Marasusa in May/June of last year and did not know what to expect as this area was completely new to us. On arrival I must admit that my partner and I were absolutely amazed at the beauty of the place. set in magnificent gardens with views to die for it is an absolute gem. totally unspoilt and organic - you have magnificent view from the apartment - the balcony and the bathroom window - its amazing. the aparment is so well equipped the owners have considered all eventualities. we spent many evenings eating al-fresco - drinking the local wine and watching those amazing views from the balcony. the apartment is set in its own little paradise - peaceful and tranquil. the apartment is clean and comfortable and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly - they actually phoned us on our arrival to make sure everything was ok. the pool and jacuzi area is stunning - once again you have those magnificent views of the sea and mountains and the old town of tropea. the town of tropea is a wonderful place steeped in history and with a good selection of cafe bars and restaurants- unique shops and buildings anda beautiful beaches and marina - only five minutes by car from the apartment - we also visited Pizzo just 20 minutes away - again this is an amazing place. the coastline has many beautiful safe clean beaches - all this is just a 5 minutet drive from the apartment. this is one of the most beautiful places we have visited and we will most definately be going back. - a car is a must as there is so much to see and we would also recommend the stomboli by night trip. It is a great place for couples or families - this is a wonderful romantic destination and we loved every minute of our time there.

“A Lovely holiday apartment”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2012

The description of this holiday apartment by the owners was extremely accurate. Although the apartment was on the compact side, it was very clean and tidy on arrival, the kitchen was fully equipped for everything you would need for a self catering holiday - We ate every meal on the balcony as the view was absolutely wonderful. The bedroom was not fully enclosed - divided by a partition wall - and for this reason I think the apartment would be most suitable for a single person/a couple or a couple with no more than 2 small children/baby. The complex was fabulous - very quiet with beautiful views and the swimming pool area was so relaxing.. A car is a must as the drive up the hillside was very steep. Local bars/ beaches were reached nearby via car and were lovely. The owners could not have been more helpful prior to our stay and also left plenty of information in the apartment to make our stay more enjoyable. We had a truly wonderful time.here - Thank you to the lovely owners - Tony and Angela.

“Stunning views, very clean and great neighbours.”

A very clean and tidy appartment with breathtaking views over Tropea. The location was peaceful and idyllic with friendly and helpful neighbours that were only too pleased to give us information about the area. Hire car is essential due to the steep incline that takes you up to the appartment however the views are well worth it. If you want tranquility and a vista that wouldn't be out of place on a postcard then this is it. A true taste of the real Italy!
