Location description from owner

The Dalmatia region

Dalmatia is a region on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, situated mostly in modern Croatia and spreading between the island of Rab in the northwest and the Bay of Kotor (in Montenegro) in the southeast. The hinterland, Zagora, ranges from fifty kilometres in width in the north to just a few kilometres wide in the south.
The Adriatic Sea's good water quality, along with the immense number of coves, islands and channels, makes it an attractive place for nautical races and nautical tourism.
Dalmatia also includes several national parks that are tourist attractions: Paklenica Karsts River, Kornati archipelago, Krka river rapids and Mljet Island.

Trogir

Trogir, small town near Split, is a lively and picturesque town situated on the stone and the sea, a wonderful Mediterranean town on the shores of the Adriatic Sea in Dalmatia, Republic of Croatia.

Its geographic location gives Trogir an additional charm. It is situated in the middle of the Dalmatian part of the coast, on the entrance of the spacious bay, between the ?iovo island and the mainland, between the stone and the level fruitful land. Trogir is famous for its old town centre enlisted as UNESCO site of world heritage and a Romanic portal at the entrance into St. Ivan church. Trogir is also known for lively summer nights. Next to Trogir lies island of ?iovo with idyllic small villages, beaches, and hidden bays ideal for swimming.

Placed in the area of mild Mediterranean climate, Trogir with its 2700 sunny hours per year is a real treasure among other tourist destinations in Croatia. Average air temperature throughout the year is above 15°C, reaching more than 30°C in summer. Sea temperature is well above 25°C during summer period.
The portal of famous Dalmatian cathedral St. Ivan was made by master Radovan, one of the best Croatian sculptors. This famous Romanesque portal dates back to the 13th century. The cathedral changed its appearance several times during the past, and in the 16th century it was attached with a Mannerist bell tower. The cathedral, together with the whole Trogir town centre was recognized as UNESCO site of world heritage.

Tourism is the largest industry in Trogir region covering 50% of Trogir's budget with more than 20.000 beds in hotels and private apartments. Still, there is very b fishing and agriculture tradition among population in surrounding areas.

Everywhere you go in Trogir area, you will meet very friendly and charming people, smooth combination of Southern temperament and warm hospitality, thanks to our long tourist tradition.
