Description

Tinos Habitart is located close to the traditional village of Triandaros on the beautiful Island of Tinos.

The settlement of Tinos Habitart includes vacation villas for rent and a group of neighbouring traditional buildings with a windmill, a dovecote, a renovated traditional hut and an olive mill where are hosted cultural events and activities.

Its location offers a stunning view of the Aegean Sea and the neighbouring islands of Mykonos and Syros, the surrounding old windmills and the City of Tinos.

The cell is a restored, two century-old, authentic hut made completely of stone.

Farmers and shepherds were using such structures as barns and to rest themselves in the midday.

Now the cell is fully renovated into a comfortable cottage (50sqm) while retains its original dimensions and traditional charm. Built of regional and its original stone, it blends perfectly with the natural Cycladic landscape and its thick walls provide excellent thermal protection

Location description from owner

The South Aegean region

Tinos is a Greek island of the Aegean Sea and the fourth in size among the Cyclades.

Tinos is considered as “the hidden gem of the Aegean”, because unlike some other islands that have been damaged by massive tourism, Tinos has retained its particular character, identity and genuine beauty!

Tinos is an Aegean island of unique charm, with unspoiled beaches, little scenic villages, original architecture and rich artistic heritage!

The Cycladic natural landscape of the island with fields and hills with panoramic sea view, rocky footpaths and shores with crystal clear waters will tranquil you and the luminous sunlight will revive you. Here you will enjoy the sea and the sun in beautiful beaches with comforts and amenities. But if you prefer more peaceful and secluded seashores you can also find many picturesque beaches where you can truly relax and reconnect with nature.

But Tinos has a lot more beauties to offer than its gorgeous shoreline. Picturesque villages with narrow stone paved alleys, arches, spectacular sea view and stunning traditional architecture bewitch every visitor. The artistically decorated dovecotes, the windmills and the charming chapels around the hills and the valleys complete the truly magnificent setting!

Nicknamed as the 'Island of Artists', Tinos is unique among the Aegean islands for its cultural tradition. Famous Greek painters Nikolaos Gyzis and Nikiforos Lytras (masters of the 19th-century Greek art movement known as the 'School of Munich') and sculptors Yannoulis Chalepas and Dimitrios Filippotis were born and raised in Tinos.

Marble carving/decoration and stone sculpture hold a special place in the long-age artistic tradition and history of Tinos since the Venetian rule (17th c.). The proficiency of Tinian marble masons was renowned in Greece, Asia Minor, the Balkans, south Russia and Egypt.

Triandaros

Triantaros is a traditional village at an elevation of 326m and a distance of 6 km from the town and port of Tinos.

This amphitheatrically built village with its breathtaking southwest view over the Aegean, has some of the best renovated houses in Tinos and constitutes a prime choice for Greeks and foreigners who dream of having a house on the island.

Triantaros is renowned for its excellent stonemasons and we take pride that our buildings bear the signature of these exceptional craftsmen.
