Location description from owner

The England region

North Cornwall is the least commercialized part of Cornwall it also has the most dramatic scenery with the highest cliffs, wonderful sandy beaches, fishing villages dramatic moorland steeped in history, sheltered valleys and woodland, wonderful historic houses and gardens but it still has some of the best restaurants in the country with great chefs (Rick Stein & Jamie Oliver) and pubs with beer brewed here in North Cornwall, we have a brewery in Tintagel and we even have our own award wining winery it is great place to visit at any time of the year as the coast is warmed by the Gulf Stream keeping it mild even in the winter and ideal for touring the whole of Cornwall and North Devon.

Trewarmett

The cottage is located in the small a hamlet Trewarmett at the top of Trebarwith Valley a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a mile from the main village of Tintagel with its many shops, pubs and restaurants and a mile from Trebarwith Strand the local sandy surfing beach which it overlooks. It is ideal for touring the whole of Cornwall and North Devon. There are lots of country and coastal walks starting from the door (maps and directions provided). A walk of less than 1 mile down the valley from the cottages takes you past the Mill House Inn to Trebarwith Strand with a surf school, beach cafes, small shops and the Port William pub up on the cliff side overlooking the beach. Tintagel also has it';s world famous castle, which legend tells to be the home of King Arthur of Camelot which is celebrated in King Arthur's Great Hall built in the 1930s by an eccentric millionaire. Also in Tintagel is The Old Post Office a 14th century manor house and the 900 year old Parish Church of St Materiana. Immediately adjacent to Tintagel is the sandy cove of Bossiney - hidden away by steep cliffs, it is the ideal spot for a picnic or just a day away from it all. Just a short walk along the cliff path brings you to Rocky Valley, a wooded valley with a cascading stream and some Bronze Age stone carvings.
