The flat is at walking distance from Lake Bracciano (50 meters), grocery stores, restaurants and cafe's. Additionally bicycles can be provided upon request. There is no private parking. However, it normally isn't very hard to find a spot in the public parking right in front of the lake and few meters away from home. The wonderful Castle of Bracciano (lately chosen by lots of Hollywood stars as their wedding location) is 10 km away. By driving the same distance, it can be also visisted the charming "Borgo Antico" of Anguillara Sabazia. The historical centre of the Eternal City (i.e. Rome) can be easily reached by driving 40 km (= 25 Miles). The medieval city of Viterbo is also very close (25km = 15 miles). For those into golf, a very nice club is located 15 km far from Trevignano. The entire flat was renowed in 2008 and decorated in a rustic country style. It comes with a rustic tuscan style kitchen on the ground floor which is fully furnished (when I say "fully furnished", I really mean it!!A romantic stone fireplace and a dining area complete the ground floor. The terracotta stairs connecting the kitchen to the living room are wide. The master and the guest bedroom are located on the first floor and are provided respectively with a queen size bed and a comfortable sofa-bed. A living room and two bathroom complete the flat. Linen and towels are free of charge.
The Lazio region
Most tourists think that Lazio is all about Rome. That is true, there is a BUT though....let's find out why!
I was born and raised in Rome and in the last 35 yrs I haven't been able to finish visiting all the marvelous historical (but not only) places of the Eternal City. Way too much to list. I can only say that if you like history, arts, fashion, food and good weather then you are in the right place!!
One would normally think all of the five features above can only be found in Rome. That is not correct.
I would say that almost any village in the outskirts of Rome has some beauty to be proud of. There are villages which are not as famous as Rome but all the same remain very well impressed to anyone to had the opportunity to visit them.
Just to name a few:
- the characteristic village of Calcata. A unique place with the Borgo Antico being located on top a very sharp cliff which seems to be falling apart at anytime
- the medieval town of Viterbo with its Cathedral and the Papal Palace
- the "Castelli Romani" area. All the villages therein located overlook Rome and offer some fresh breeze (and probably the best food) during the torrid summer
- Lake Bracciano with its three gems (Anguillara, Bracciano and Trevignano) surrounding the lake itself.
Trevignano is a fascinating village that offers a wealth of things to experience, and whether you are into relaxing on the clear waters of Lake Bracciano, practicing sailing/windsurf/canoeing, visiting the fabulous castle of Bracciano or simply tasting the local food and wines in the large variety of restaurants, you will find it makes the ideal base.
Trevignano, like Anguillara and Bracciano, is located on the volcanic Lake of Bracciano which was recently chosen by many Hollywood stars as the location for their wedding and/or celebration.
Out of the three villages, Trevignano is definetely the most classy and well taken care of. Most tourists will define it as a real gem! The small "Borgo Antico" where the flat is located, is really charming and romantic.
Apart from the lake and all the related activities, you will also be very close to a wonderful Golf Club and have plenty of opportunities ride horses and stay at direct contact with the nature.
Other villages I would also recommend visiting are: Calcata (15 miles away), Lake Martignano (very small lake placed absolutely in the middle of nowhere - 5 miles away), the medieval city of Viterbo (known for its Cathedral and fascinating historical center) and Sutri.
There are many food and drink festivals which are organized mostly from Spring to Autumn. As you might know, in Italy any single place has its own special dishes and this is a real opportunity to enjoy the local food and wines. Definitely a must-see if you happen to be around in the right period. Please ask for further information.
To reach the center of Rome one should drive 30 minutes or leave the car either in Anguillara or Cesano and take the metropolitan train (one every 15 minutes) which for 3 euro (return ticket) can drop you very close to the Vatican area or other touristic areas. Commuting time will be approximately 30 minutes.

"Fabulous location and well-appointed accommodation."
We really enjoyed our stay in Trevignano and the accommodation was fantastic! Tucked into the old town, the flat has all the amenities required and is well decorated throughout. The best any traveller could say is that they'd go again and we certainly would. It is in a fabulous location too - a stones throw from the lake (Bracciano) and the town square - the town has an abundance of really good restaurants and cafes. Our 10 year old enjoyed it too - we spent several days just pottering around the lake, swimming, canoeing and enjoying the sun! The lake is amazing - very clean and with sand underfoot - oh, and warm! We'd spent the previous week in Rome and the second week in Trevignano is the perfect contrast to the city break. We would definitely go again.

"Great place to stay"
This apartment in Trevignano is a fantastic place to stay, in a great town, on a beautiful lake. The apartment is clean and well presented and is a stones throw from a great selection of lake-side restaurants and the central piazza. We are a family of 5 and there was more than enough room in the flat, which is typically Italian. We were given a lovely welcome on arrival, the owner had previously emailed us a whole list of suggestions of things to do, and there is plenty to do both in the town and around the area. I would definitely recommend this apartment.
