Getting around

North Wales is served by major UK train routes and has an extensive road network including some of Britain's most scenic routes and for those who love a challenging drive, some stunning open roads (including the infamous Evo Triangle). Best of all we are just 2.4 miles from the A 55 so access to all that Denbighshire and North Wales has to offer is easily accessible, whether it be the mountains of Snowdon National Park, the wild coastline, historical sites or the ancient walled City of Chester.

Interaction with guest

We would be very happy to chat with you about all the great foodie places, walks, sights, adventures & beaches nearby. Or just email us to receive our guest information booklet which includes the best local restaurants, fun things to do, special sights only locals know about (and even the gorgeous beach dedicated to St Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers, voted by Conde Nast as one of the best beaches in Britain!).

“Faultless romantic getaway”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2017

We couldn’t have been more thrilled with the Bothy and our fantastic hospitality from Thomas. From the luxurious spa bathroom, to the gorgeous rolling hilltops, the Bothy really did make an unforgettable first getaway for us. The spa bathroom made for total relaxation and the wood fired hot tub was positioned perfectly for sipping Sauvignon while gazing out onto the amazing views and scenery that the Bothy has to offer. Nothing was too much trouble for Thomas during our stay and the Bothy is a credit to his hard work, care and attention to detail. We cannot wait to return and will definitely be rebooking!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely comments, so pleasing to hear that your getaway was just the ticket! Do come and see us again, all the best, Thomas & Amanda

“Fabulous weekend escape”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2017

We booked the Bothy to take a weekend away from it all to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The location was excellent for us being less than 1 hour from our home in Warrington. It is less than 10 minutes from the main road, but you'd never know as it is set on the side of a valley facing rolling farmland and Denbigh castle in the distance a few miles away. It really does feel a million miles from home. We watched new lambs on the valley side opposite, whist birds of prey soared above and horses mooched about the paddock, all from a wood fired hot tub! Use of the hot tub was £10 for the stay + the cost of the wood used, and well worth it, it made the weekend. There is also a fire pit Thomas was a great host, and there were some lovely touches at the Bothy including some fresh baked scones.

Owner's reply: So glad to hear you enjoyed our little slice of paradise, lovely to have to have you stay with us for your anniversary. Hope to see you again soon, Thomas & Amanda

“A beautiful place to truly relax in beautiful welsh countryside”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2016

The Bothy is beautiful, very private and quite special. It is small, beautiful and perfectly formed with everything we needed, (including an extremely eclectic selection of dvds!) for a restful and lovely stay. I am now a convert of wood-burning hot tubs - especially when they look out onto such glorious surroundings; in fact the whole outdoor space has been carefully thought out to maximise your privacy, to ensure your relaxation and to take advantage of the wonderful aspect of the Bothy in its gorgeous Welsh countryside.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your generous comments....and your appreciation of the DVD's! And so nice to hear that you enjoyed all the aspects of the Bothy. All the best
