Although the location feels remote it is only a 15 minute drive to the shops, restaurants and galleries of Padstow and Wadebridge and also the delightful sandy beaches for which the North Coast is renowned. The Camel Trail, about a mile down the lane, follows the route of the old railway line between Padstow and Bodmin and is much loved by walkers and cyclists (bikes may be hired at Padstow or Wadebridge). The path follows the river bank through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its abundant wildlife and if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of an otter or a porpoise in the estuary. There are two pubs in St Issey, one of which is only about a miles walk if you take a short cut across the fields.

Location description from owner

The England region

In recent times the county of Cornwall has become world famous for its great beaches, top surf spots, delicious local food, and laid-back way of life. Perfect for families.

Lovers of the ocean will be in their element exploring picturesque fishing villages, drinking local ales in smuggler's inns, sampling freshly caught seafood, taking on new water sports or simply losing track of time on Cornwall's 300 or so beautiful golden beaches.

Walkers will relish the longest stretch of continuous coastline in Britain on the South West Coast Path. Inland, hundreds of miles of paths reveal a lesser known Cornwall of rugged moorland, ancient market towns, tin mining heritage and fascinating remains of prehistoric cultures.

Tregonce

Padstow is renowned as a first class gastronomic destination, with a myriad of excellent restaurants, the most famous of which are Rick Stein's. There is fantastic shopping in the many small shops with international brands and local crafts. It is a very pleasant place to wander through and finish off with a meal by the harbour.
Wadebridge too has been redeveloped over the last 20 years and now offers cafe culture, a cinema and many local shops.

At both Wadebridge and Padstow, you can hire cycles to travel along the Camel Trail, a track alongside the beautiful river where you can admire the views and the wildlife.

The many delightful sandy beaches offer family fun, surfing and swimming. You will be spoilt for choice!

“Perfect!”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2014

We were really really pleased. The cottage was a lot larger than we thought it would be, and very spacious. Easily enough room for 8 adults. The Aga was great (plus a 'normal' cooker for when not feeling adventurous!) The area is remote, (Its Cornwall!) there are lovely walks, and its a short drive into Padstow. the Pickwick inn, just around the corner was excellent. Would love to go back.

“Absolutely fantastic and great value for money”

Trelissa is a true delight. It is homely and welcoming and very well equipped with plenty of room. We have had a wonderful holiday and cannot recommend the house highly enough. We look forward to our return.
