In this peaceful retreat, French windows open onto a courtyard garden with a table and chairs – the perfect spot to catch the sun and enjoy an evening drink with an unspoilt view of the mill stream and its island, teeming with wildlife just a few feet away.

Centrally heated throughout, it retains many of the original features, including exposed beams. On the ground floor there is a fully fitted kitchen, dining area seating four, and lounge space. The first floor has a double bed room with a separate shower room/WC. On the top floor there is a twin/double bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, and a shower over the bath.

Puddle Cottage is available for long and short stays. Changeover is on Fridays for weekly and weekend breaks. Mid-week breaks are Monday to Friday. Please do ask if you have any special dates that need accommodating. When possible we are happy to be flexible.

We live next door to Puddle Cottage and are always available for guest queries. We provide a folder of local tourist attractions but are always happy to answer questions. It is a legal requirement for furnished holiday lets in the UK for guests to provide names and nationalities of anyone staying who is over 16. Please note for visitors who are NOT UK, Irish, or Commonwealth citizens, passport details and next destination are also a legal requirement. This data will be held for a year as a legal requirement. Bookings are not valid unless these conditions are fulfilled. Pets are welcome but not on the furniture or bedding and must not be left unattended. This is a no-smoking property. We ask guests to respect our neighbours.

Why can't I call Jonathan (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jonathan (the owner) a message.

If Jonathan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
