Location description from owner

The North Wales region

Just a short drive, across either of the two bridges connecting Anglesey to the rest of North Wales you are in the Snowdonia National Park, home to Snowdon the highest mountain in England and Wales. The vastness of Eryri (Snowdonia) the land of the eagles with its mountain passes, once guarded by the legions of Rome, is spectacular. You can still see the remains of the roman fort 'Segontium' at Caernarfon. This royal town with its remarkable castle along with Beaumaris castle on Anglesey forms part of Edward 1st ring of fortresses which includes no fewer than ten castles of which seven including Conwy with its walled market town, can be found in north Wales. Equally grand and impressive are the Welsh castles at Criccieth, Dolbadarn and Dolwyddelan.

North Wales has great days out for all the family, historical houses and gardens, highland railways and funicular trams, animal parks and sea zoos, galleries and museums, everything from action packed activity centres to an eco friendly family adventure park.

Trearddur Bay

Anglesey may be small but the list of activities is endless. When it comes to things to do, Anglesey offers something for everyone. At Trearddur Bay you are only a ten minute drive from arguably one of the most spectacular locations on Anglesey. South Stack Lighthouse, not only can you experience breath taking views and visit a working lighthouse. The RSPB centre here at Ellins Tower is a bird watchers paradise in an amazing location.

If sport is your passion, with over five premium golf courses, one only five minutes at Holyhead, go karting, motorsport, equestrian centres, fishing and water sports galore. Enough to keep any sporting enthusiast busy.
Anglesey is steeped in history with its medieval castle at Beaumaris and the Iron age hill fort and Roman signal point at the top of Holyhead mountain with panoramic views across Anglesey and towards the mainland.
When it comes to art the Oriel Gallery holds up to eight exhibitions annually by local, national and international artists. The Ucheldre in Holyhead, is a complete centre for both visual and performing arts, has a huge programme of events, anything from Opera to Beethoven to the Blues.
Fun for all the family at Anglesey Sea Zoo, Wales's biggest aquarium or visit the nearest thing to butterfly heaven at Pili Palas. You can also experience the sights and sounds of a real working farm at Foel Farm Park with tractor and trailer rides.

“Very clean and spacious property”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2016

On arriving at the gogarth suite I was a little disappointed to see tape on the laminate floor to one of the bedrooms. There was also a couple of minor things like the toilet seat not staying up and bulbs that hadn't been replaced. However, the size of the rooms and the way it was furnished more than made up for that. The bedrooms were more than adequate and the bathrooms very clean. The main living area is huge and it has a lounge area with a TV, then there's a window sofa with amazing sea views and the dining table. The kitchen was just right for everything you need for a week away. The washer and dishwasher being very handy and the added benefit of a beer fridge made a nice touch. The one thing we all missed was being able to get onto the Internet. I paid to use the WiFi from the caravan site nearby but the signal was only good at the back of the property. 3 of us had ee and couldn't get Internet anywhere trearddur bay but one of us could with voda phone. The outside of the property really needs to have a gardener to tend to it. It was seriously overgrown and the views would have been a lot better if it was tamed a bit. One of the chairs was also broken outside and hadn't been repaired. The private use of the indoor pools was great. But when I asked reception about the outdoor pool they said it hadn't been open for years and wouldn't be opening. So this is a bit of false advertising. You get the pools for an hour at a time but it's not fun getting out freezing cold and wet then having to walk down to reception with the key as there's no showers in there. I couldn't fault how clean this property was. It's the first time I have stayed somewhere in this country that I haven't had to clean myself on arrival. The beds were immaculate and so was the kitchen and appliances. It's a short walk down to the main bay and there is also a little beach at the bottom of the road. I would definitely stay here again even though it sounds like I am grumbling about little things but I am giving a real up to date account of how I found things.

“Smart, comfortable apartment”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2014

A smart, comfortable apartment in a lovely location. We have been coming to this area for many years, staying both in The Cliff Apartments and cottages. Gogarth is modern and spacious with excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. The sunbeds in the garden were a bonus for us, as we enjoyed glorious weather. The offer of weekend or midweek is a good idea, you can choose which suits you best. Thank you, we hope to return.

“Excellent, restful weekend break”

Reviewed 22 Nov 2013

We just wanted a last minute weekend break away from it all but not in the wilderness. Booking was straight forward & hassle free. The apartment, with it's own parking, was warm & welcoming the minute the door was opened for us. It was spotlessly clean in every aspect, rooms, floors, bathrooms & bed linen. The kitchen was well equipped so if you wanted to self cater there would be no problems. All the furnishings were of a good quality & comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't have the time or inclination to use any of the pools so couldn't comment on them. The outside areas were again clean & tidy and nice to have. Would definitely recommend & stay again without hesitation.
