The North Wales region

The Isle of Anglesey hugs the coast of North Wales and boasts over 100 miles of spectacular coastline, within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Variety is Anglesey's special attraction, all of which is easily accessible from the house. Anglesey is unparalleled in its diversity of wildlife habitats, from the great sea cliffs to the estuaries, lagoons and dunes on the coast to the lakes, wetlands, heaths and richly mosaic farmland of the interior. Cycling and walking are popular activities, with easy access to the 125mile Anglesey Coastal Path.

Trearddur Bay

Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of Holy Island which has a truly spectacular coastline indented with rocky coves and sandy beaches. The hundreds of rock pools and excellent bird watching facilities make the area a haven for nature lovers. South Stack RSPB Nature Reserve is just a short drive away. Walking, cycling, water sports, swimming, sailing, fishing, diving and sun bathing are the main activities during the summer months. Fantastic coastal walks make the area popular in the winter months too, with The Lookout providing a warm, relaxing base from which couples looking for a romantic getaway and groups of friends and families can enjoy this year round destination. There are two local stables which offer treks and a unique experience to explore this wonderful coastline on horse back. Golfers can enjoy the Holyhead 18 hole links golf course.

Trearddur Bay itself boasts shops, pubs, a newly opened gin & cocktail bar on the seafront, cafes/tea rooms, several good restaurants serving delicious local produce, a 9 hole golf course and of course, the beautiful blue flag beach with golden sand and lots of rock pools to explore. All amenities are within walking distance of the house; in particular the Trearddur Bay Hotel/Inn At The Bay is within a five minute walk, as are 2 new restaurants on the seafront, (opened in Spring/Summer 2016). Nearby Holyhead also offers a wider range of amenities with its out of town shopping complex, ferry port with day trips to Eire (99 minutes on the fast ferry) and the Ucheldre Centre for those with an interest in local art and culture, which also boasts an excellent coffee shop in a lovely environment. Holyhead Leisure Centre is within easy reach with a 25m swimming pool and various leisure and fitness classes on offer.

“Fab location!”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2016

I travelled to this cottage with some colleagues and adults with disabilities for their annual residential of a 5 day stay at Treardurr Bay. After initially struggling to find the cottage (we had a wrong postcode, our fault), we were very happy with what we saw when we arrived. The cottage has a nice traditional feel to it with homely soft furnishings and spacious rooms. It was perfect for the adults we had brought as it was very open plan with outdoor areas for them to potter about in. The location is perfect! Shops nearby as well as various pubs and restaurants to have a drink in or eat at. The beach is also very near which is perfect on a nice summers day. The owners were also very accommodating to our needs as a group travelling with adults with disabiltiies and gave us an early check in as well as helping us find the cottage when we got lost. I would highly recommend this cottage to a family or group wanting a nice relaxing stay in Treardurr Bay!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that you all enjoyed your holiday at The Lookout and had a lovely relaxing stay in Trearddur Bay. It was our pleasure re the early check in - we always try to accommodate the needs of our guests if we can and look forward to welcoming you to stay with us again in the near future.

“Ideal location”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2016

I'd recommend The Lookout to anyone - clean, spacious, well-maintained with a lovely aspect and setting. It's ideal for getting to the beach or any of the new restaurants in TB, and in a quiet, off-road setting to give further peace of mind. The owners are accommodating, polite and kind. When the sun shines, it's a perfect sun trap too!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind words. It is always a pleasure to hear that guests have enjoyed their holiday at The Lookout and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know. We look forward to welcoming you to stay with us again soon.

“lovely house in a fab location”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2016

Myself, husband, 2 children and my mother stayed here for a week. The house was very well equipped with more than ample equipment/utensils. Lovely views from the garden and balcony and a great decking area at the bottom of the garden to enjoy the views of the countryside and sea. Rupert and Abida were very thoughtful in leaving a few supplies in the fridge (including a bottle of wine) !! Wiould definitely stay here again.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your holiday at The Lookout and look forward to being able to welcome you to stay with us again soon.

“Fabulous location great house”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2016

I have just spent a week at this house with my partner, daughter and elderly parents (oh and the dog!). House was well equipped. Fabulous location overlooking the bay with an easy 5-10min walk to the beach. Unfortunately the weather wasn't kind to us so we weren't able to take advantage of the lovely garden, patio and decked areas but the lookout had everything we needed. The communication we had with the new owners Rupert and Adiba was excellent. If I had one suggestion it would be to consider erecting a wooden high fence between the 2 properties. We will not hesitate to visit here again. Thank you Rupert and Adiba.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your holiday at The Lookout - in spite of the weather. We would love to have you come and stay with us again and hopefully the next time, the weather will be kinder!
