Location description from owner

The England region

The North Coast of Cornwall has some of the most stunning scenery available in the UK. The wonderful sandy beaches that are such a feature of the area. Superb for dog walkers - acres of sand dune for the dogs to run free in.

West Country

Holywell Beach is one of the best beaches in the UK. The trout stream that gently meanders on to the beach, the caves including the magical Holywell. Rock pools for the children to swim in, fish for rock gobies or crabs.
Some of the Best sand dunes in the UK for Dune boarding.

A great beach for surfing or swimming, the South end is partially protected by the Gull Rocks whilst the North end can have some really exciting surf.

A couple of Public Houses in Holywell Bay itself and the Smugglers Den (16th Century Thatched Public House) just a short drive or 2 mile walk up the valley towards Cubert.

There is a challenging Par 3 18 hole golf coarse a 10 minute walk away. Tennis is available in Newquay at the Heron Tennis centre. Indoor courts are also available.

The Newquay area enjoys a particularly mild climate ,often having an early spring ,good summer and sunshine into late autumn ,which is also a lovely time to visit.Winters are milder than the rest of the country.

Spoilt for choice with day trips, kids will love Dairyland, Newquay Zoo and the Theme parks of Crealy and Flambards.

Eden Project is a great day out for everyone and for garden lovers, the Lost gardens of Heligan are a must see. There are some great National Trust properties nearby with Trelissick Gardens ,Trerice and Bedruthan Steps all worth a visit.

Padstow is 30mins drive away and at the end of the Camel Trail , a lovely off road cycling experience ,and while there treat yourself to Rick Steins fish and chips.

“genau richtig”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2015
