The Andalucia region
Andalusia is renowned for its sunshine, beaches, culture and friendly hospitality. Within reasonable driving distance (1.5 hours) are the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada, the historic city of Granada with its world famous Moorish Alhambra Palace and several National Parks. For those who don't want to drive the area is serviced by very good and economical bus and coach companies.
Reputably the "Best Climate in Europe" with several beaches which are famous for their spit roasted sardines.
The village and surrounding area is host to many fiestas held throughout the year - many of which have music, flamenco dancing and fireworks.
All year round Municipal Swimming Pool within reasonable walking distance of holiday home.
Regular local bus services to the beach and nearby towns, such as
Nerja - where spectacular caves are worth a visit as is this pretty tourist town.
Velez Malaga- known for its Aqua Park, large commercial shopping mall and fabulous golf course. And Malaga City- provincial capital with its cathedral, Picasso Museum, many other cultural activities and shopping is a must!

"Spain at its best"
This property was ideal for us as it was in a quiet location but within east walking distance to the local square around which village life revolves. The house is well equipped for all your needs whether you like to do all your own cooking or generally eat out as we did! There are three comfortable bedrooms,lounge/diner,kitchen and shower. Each has a ceiling fan that make it quite comfortable in the heat. There is a nice little Spanish bar close by that was very welcoming and served tapas. In the same area there is a small bakery so you get really crash bread every day. There are a few small grocery shops nearby also. But should you you require a larger shop they are a bus ride away on the Costa(fare is only one euro each way. All in all I would highly recommend this holiday let highly.

"Perfect 'White Village' house vacation"
The property was just what we wanted, Clean, comfy and well positioned in the village for local amenities - shops, bars and parking. Looking forward to revisiting the Pueblo and would definitely book the Torrox Pueblo Casa again. Thank you Karen!

"Idyllic spot, great cosy house"
Great spot in the village, easy to walk to shops and restaurants. Free parking nearby and Torrox was a good location for days out looking around the area. The house is deceptive from the out side. Well appointed and good accommodation. All the things you need and more. The kitchen is more than adequate and we used it for breakfast and lunch/picnics. We enjoyed the local restaurants for dinner and a short stroll back for a night cap on the roof terrace. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and a double up a spiral staircase, with access to the roof terrace. So if you can't manage a spiral staircase it may not be the place for you. Karen left a great welcome and was very helpful through booking and arrival, highly recommended.

"Basic at best."
The area is perfect, lovely sleepy village, nice beaches a couple of mile away. The accommodation is very basic. The photos flatter the house, and is smaller than it looks. Very difficult to take luggage up/down the spiral staircase, and the 3rd bedroom is very small. The kitchen was not to the same standard of hygiene that we expected.
The property is correctly described as a village house in a "white" Spanish village and not a villa with all that that implies. This is ofcourse reflected in the value for money price. The kitchen, although due for refurbishment next month, is tired looking but certainly not unhygenic. Other reviews confirm this.

"Beautifull place to stay"
We spent two weeks in Torrox with our children. The house is real rural and plain but has everything you need. The view from terrace is really wonderful!!!!. We do miss the place...

"Charming house with great views in sleepy little village"
This is a charming little house on an easily accessible street about 10 min. flat walk from the main plaza with a number of good shops and cafes. There's a small grocery store and a bakery just minutes from the front door. The scenic walk to the beach in Torrox-Costa takes about 45 min. along a rural path beside a small river. The rooftop terrace had the most spectacular views and we spent countless hours up there reading, relaxing and planning our day. There is a good-sized master bedroom with a constant cross breeze which kept it comfortable in the mid day heat. The kitchen is bright and efficient and we cooked there often. When the owner redid the house she put in four skylights which makes the house bright and airy. The owner and her husband were lovely people and went out of their way to assist us and offer recommendations for restaurants, travel etc. We stayed for a month and fell in love with this sleepy little village. We would definitely like to return in the future.

"Lovely village house"
Lovelly little village house in a friendly pueblo with nice central square including local shops, bars, restaurants and banks. Space was a bit tight with 3 children which meant breakfast etc had to be taken on the roof terrace which required carrying everything up 2 spiral staircases. Also with very young children need to watch when leaving house as door opens directly onto road. Torrox costa beach not great but there are plenty of other smaller beaches just down the coast to the East. Some nice restaurants at the costa promenade (look for the ones with the spanish families having lunch). Could do with a bit more info in the file at the house regarding markets, supermarket locations, good restaurants etc. Overall we all enjoyed our stay Casa Torrox Pueblo

"Nice change from the usual Package Holiday!"
Others have mentioned the various aspects of Torrox and I agree with them so won't replicate their reviews. In addition to all that's been said I would mention that there is quite a good bus service from the Pueblo to Torrox Costa and also direct to Malaga. I took the bus to Malaga and its a nice journey along the coast - worth the few euros. The Pueblo itself, while pretty and full of charm, is a challenge to the calves! The main square is pleasant in the evening and the people are nice. 'Value' would be the key difference you'd notice if you're used to holidaying in the usual resorts - dining and drinking are much cheaper. And the food is delicious - I never had a bad meal! The beach wasn't great when we were there - very gritty and boiling hot - but I have been told that it changes throughout the year as erosion gets to work. Early in the season is probably a better time to visit if you like nice sand. Bars and restaurants along the sea front are plentiful and there is a good variety of food on offer. Sardines seem to be a local favourite. Torrox is well serviced by road with the motorway taking you to Malaga and beyond one way, or up to Granada the other way. You would need a car though as the beach is a 10 minute drive from the Pueblo and Torrox itself doesn't have a lot to amuse if you are planning a 2 week stay. There is a lovely municipal pool just outside of town and this is worth a visit to cool down in the evening. With many pretty and interesting towns and villages in the vicinity, Torrox is best visited behind the wheel. The accommodation is basic but do not let that put you off. Very little time will be spent at home! The bedrooms big enough and the kitchen is well equipped should you decide to eat in. The top terrace is where the best views are to be had and I would make my only negative comment at this point. The furniture needs to be updated here and the terrace could do with a little TLC (and possibly some sort of covering to shade the midday sun). Some more plants or a fresh coat of paint would do wonders to what is, despite my criticism, a lovely space. Views are as they appear in the photos but bring your camera because the scenery is spectacular. The owner is a dream to deal with, pleasant and efficient, and always on hand to answer your questions. All things considered, I would recommend this house as a base for exploring Andalucia but bring a car!

"Nice, rustic, compact accommodation. Very good value for money."
The accommodation was a little compact for our family of 4, i.e. the kids, 6 & 8, would have enjoyed a little more space to have played. The master bedroom was spacious, the others were small but adequate, the living area although quite small was comfortable. The roof terrace was great for breakfasts & evening meals/BBQ's, so if the weather allows make the most of the wonderful view, but it is up a couple of steep flights of stairs. The location is ideal for access to the hills & motorway. There are plenty of small towns to visit in the hills. The town was very nice & quiet, with plenty of bars/restaurants. However, at night there was the odd scooter that raced along the street making quite a bit of noise. The locals were very friendly. The owner was very helpful & the car parking was only 50m away.

My husband & I travelled with my elderly parents, we had previously been to Torrox, however we were reluctant to take my parents because the typical village house is on 3 floors with a spiral staircase, with bathrooms & bedrooms on different floors & parking is normally, so difficult. This house was great, shower room, kitchenette, lounge (with Sky TV) all on the ground floor, with free parking only a minutes walk....they even managed the staircase! Great House
