VILLA MONTAGNOLA Offers everything for a top family vacation but also for an ultimate relaxation of romantic couples or a Golf trip with friends. It's unique selling point is the perfect combination of a house in a beautiful rural area at only one hour from the city centre of Rome.
The Villa is situated on an area of 27 hectares and has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room with fireplace and above all a large well equipped kitchen/dining room. The owner writes Italian Cookbooks and has tried out many recipes in this kitchen.
The house is surrounded by a garden with approximately 150 m2 of terraces, so any time of day can be experienced differently. In it a private swimming pool (10 x 5 meters), available from mid May to late October. Adjacent to the garden you find an olive grove of nearly 2 hectares, containing a covered BBQ area and a petanque court.
Built in local style using the specific materials from the region, local artisans carried out the wishes of the Dutch owner with great love and attention, using many wooden beams and local stones. The large windows of the master bedroom offer a stunning view over the valleys. The house has the atmosphere of a rustic casale combined with the luxury and light of a modern home--a perfect combination in a particular region.
The Villa has been built exactly at this spot for it's stunning panorama with endless views over olive groves and vineyards. In the middle of the Sabine mountains and it's valleys. The absolute silence can still be experienced here and where do you still find a clear view of the Galaxy? On the property you find olive trees, meadows and forests.
This rustic Villa is situated on one of the Sabine hills, La Montagnola. At 3 km of the medieval town of Torri in Sabina and close to romantic villages of Casperia, Rochette, Montasola and Roccantica. But within an hour you park your car at the Parking Garage of Villa Borghese, close to the Spanish steps in Rome.
In the area you find a wide selection of various types of Italian restaurants with the typical Italian hospitality, friendly priced menu's, often wine and water included. The pizza's served at night always come from a wood oven and are thin, crispy and very tasty. And after a splendid diner at one of Rome's great restaurants there is nothing nicer that having a last glass of wine on the villa's terrace watching the stars in complete silence.

The Lazio region
Northeast of Rome you find the Monte Sabini, an integral part of the Apennines. It runs from the rolling hills of La Sabina. Even in the Roman times, it already was a popular summer resort or holiday destination for wealthy Romans. Several excavations, in the vicinity of the Villa, are a reminder of that. Down the road of the Villa e.g. Il Santuario di Vescovio, a well known pilgrimage place of St. Francis. Or a bit further away the Abbey of Farfa in Sabina with it's library with the first handwritten books by the local monks.
The breathtaking silence, the cool, refreshing breeze during summer, the real countryside life, is what you will find there today. And.. within one hour you are in the center of van Rome, the most beautiful city in the world. To the north, also within one hour, you are in medieval towns like Viterbo, Orvieto, Todi. A bit further you find Peruggia and Assisi.
Torri in Sabina
From May till October each town organises it's local fairs, music, dance and food activities. Often closing with spectacular fireworks to be seen over a long distance from the high positioned terrace of the villa.
The local kitchen has all the flavours of what Italy provides. Affordable priced restaurants with 3 course meals, wine and water included, not over €25pp but also a more luxurious restaurants with good selection of wines. In the area you will find a number of very good Pizza restaurants, heating there wood oven every night.
Ample Golf opportunities in a circle of 100km's. Close to Rome you find for instance La Casteluccia an de Via Cassia. Another beautiful course is Le Querce in Sutri. But you will find 10+ of various type in this range.
