Description

A good sized apartment suitable for family holidays, golfing breaks or as a base for walking or driving tours of Andalucia with uninterrupted views to the Mediterranean Sea, situated on the 4th floor in a well maintained gated peaceful community.
With views of the sea, swimming pool, beautiful gardens and tennis court from the front windows and the mountains and Torrequebrada golf course from the rear windows.

Less than 3 minutes to walk to the nearest beach, Playas Las Yuccas with sunbeds, umbrellas and a cafe/bar in high season or less than 10 minutes walk to bigger beaches with watersports, pedalos etc. There is a bus stop very near with a frequent 24 hour service along the coast road to Torremolinos and Malaga to the east and Fuengirola and Marbells to the west. Only 15 minutes from Malaga airport there is no need to hire a car, but if you do there is secure, allocated underground parking with the apartment.

The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del Sol is the destination of 1st choice for Uk holiday makers. The area has something for everyone. Miles of sandy beaches and a safe coastline for swimming, watersports, fishing and sailing, bars, nightlife, restaurants offering any variety of cuisine, water parks, art galleries, museums and sea fron promenades. There are over 100 superb standard golf courses giving the area its 2nd name of Costa del Golf.
On average there are 300 rain free days each year and the temperature is generally mild to hot, but rarely too hot on the coast thanks to the cooling on shore breeze on summer afternoons.
The area has been colonised by the Phenicians, Romans and Moors, each leaving their own individual legacy in the architecture, food and language and now included within the Andalucian culture and traditions of southern Spain. Festivals and ferias happen throughout the year, including processions and celebrations of local saints, these involve almost all of the local communities and should not be missed if a chance arises.
Andalucia has many inland towns and villages which are still largely untouched by tourism and are gems to explore. The hills and mountains behind the coastal strip are ideal for walking and hiking at all levels. There are national parks with lakes, wild flowers and birds of prey and stunning scenery.
Between Malaga and Marbella there are a number of chic shopping malls, local food and bric a brac markets as well as main stream shopping centres.

Torrequebrada

Torrequebrada is situated on the coast between Malaga in the east and Marbella in the west. The nearest towns are Benalmadena and Fuengirola, both around 10 minutes away be car/bus and offering everything for a beach holiday plus night-time entertainment, restaurants and clubs.
The nearest beach is a 3 minute walk away and many other beaches including the areas nudist beach are all a short, relatively flat walk.
Just down the road is the internationally known 5* Hotel Torrequebrada with a casino and caberet nights or alternatively a delightful bar on the beach offering tasty freshly cooked food and live music in the high season. Benalmadena Puerto is bustling after dark and "24 hour square" is just that and will satisfy the keenest party goer.
There are 2 nearby water parks and Tivili World amusement park for thrill seekers. Selwo Marina and Dolphin Park is fun for all age groups as is Sea World at the Marina. The nearby beaches offer sunbeds and parasols in the summer season, some have pedalos, parasending, flying bananas and rings. The beaches are clean and the water quality is good, beach bars for snacks and supper are plentiful. It is possible to walk from Benalmadena to Torremolinos along a lovely promenade lined with cafes, bars and resaurants, perfect to linger to watch the world go by.
It is easy to drive from the apartment for an hour or so to reach Gibraltar, Estopona, Tarifa and the Costa de la Luz, Ronda, Nerja or Mijas. Even Granada, Sevile and Cordoba are possible days trips. A pick up point for regional guided bus tours is within 5 minutes walk of the apartment. A bus stop for the local bus service is similarly close providing regular access to the larger local towns.

“Home from home in spacious Andalucian apartment”

This is a very comfortable apartment which is barely 20 minutes from Malaga airport...something really appreciated by my two teenagers for whom getting straight on with sunbathing and pool were must haves. The private garden is immaculately kept and affords lots of shade in the hot August sun! At no stage did the pool feel crowded. What I most love about Fortunamar is that the apartment is so comfortable and a real home from home with a fully functioning kitchen should I wish to become a Masterchef with all the readily available fresh ingredients from the excellent supercor, the local and very well stocked supermarket 5 mins by taxi. Nearby a mere 10-15 minute walk away there are a number of reasonably priced restaurants for lovely evening meals almost entirely populated by spaniards when we stayed last year. The owners have provided many books, maps and a range of excellent suggestions for things to do further afield ...well worth an explore are the back roads to Rhonda and Sevilla using this apartment as a base. I will definitely book this again!

The apartment is very easy to get to by taxi from Malaga airport and is well appointed. The pool and garden area are well maintained and there is a tennis court as well. Lovely beaches across the road and further down the coast have very good restaurants, and there is a very well stocked supermarket within walking distance.
