Rowell House is an extremely spacious period three bedroomed Grade II listed property in the quiet, but convenient location of Meadfoot. It enjoys open views over Torquay and is a short walk to Torquay harbour and the award winning Meadfoot Beach. We have refurbished Rowell House to a high standard showing off it's fine period features while incorporating everything that is required for modern day living. Rowell House provides quality bedding and towels, wifi, Virgin media tv, board games and much more all included in your stay.
We have a Tripp trapp high chair, travel cot, toddler loo seat and steps so we are very child friendly (as well as having two boys of our own). We are pet friendly and always bring George our cat with us to stay.
We hope you choose to stay at Rowell house as we have tried to make it extremely comfortable and home from home.
Please note, that Rowell House is a period property. We recognise that some of the features that we love for their character might make this unsuitable for some guests with restricted movement. We suggest you contact us to discuss this before booking.
It is a walk up a steep hill from the harbour and therefore not suitable for those looking for a level location.

“Lovely Period home from home”
Beautiful period house is a very handy location for the harbour and all that Torquay has to offer, with many attractions within a 10 minute drive such as Babbacombe Model Village, Kent's Cavern, Clifftop Railway and Bygones, as well as the harbour and beaches. The walk back up hill after a day (or night) of fun in the harbour will not be for everyone, but we found it was okay. The house is extremely well equipped and finished tastefully with lots of interesting pieces, making it feel very homely. We had a bottle of wine and a tin of shortbread waiting for us on arrival, along with fresh milk and tea, coffee etc which was a lovely touch. The house needs a little bit of tlc in places but we really enjoyed our stay. Parking for larger cars is slightly challenging if you want to park on the drive as it is narrow, but permits are provided for on road parking if you prefer. The landlords were very accomodating and I would definitely recommend Rowell House to anyone looking for a homely and comfortable home from home.

“Nice central quiet place, ideal to stay at Torquay”
Only 5 minutes walk to the harbour, but still very quiet. We liked it a lot. It was very well outfitted and in good condition. We especially liked the barbecue, the good kitchen and the huge dinner table.

- How do damage deposits work?
In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

- How do I edit my booking?
You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Dawn & Stephen (the owner) a message.
If Dawn & Stephen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
