"Whitestone" is in a pretty rural location, very distinctive property surrounded by open countryside with spectacular views of the Speyside valley. Adjacent to the Tormore distillery.

Recently refurbished by developers only four years ago. Leading up the property is sweeping driveway which is flanked by well maintained gardens. The property has been furnished to a high standard, supplied with many home comforts making this property a home from home. The living room has leather sofas, a HD TV , coffee table , and oak style furnishings, with oil fired heating and also a multi fuel burner - this room is ideal for snuggling up with a hot drink or glass of wine after a busy day exploring the area. With dual aspect windows the room is bright and airy. And has fantastic views.

The kitchen / diner is a good size with plenty of dining space , enough room at the extendible table for six. Well equipped with all you need to prepare a lovely meal for the family. There is

Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The master to the front, also dual aspect , has a king size bed. Large wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table. The second bedroom has twin beds. Bedside table, drawers and trip wardrobe. Finally the third bedroom is a single , with storage.

We love the area and hope that you will to : exploring and discovering the amenities including the Cairngorms National Park, the Whiskey Trail. Or if you are a golfer there are courses in Ballindalloch and Boat of Garten. The cottage is also within easy reach of other places of interest to suit all.

The house can accommodate at least five people. We have also ensured that there is plenty to keep you occupied in inclement weather with a selection of games and DVDs. If this is your first visit, we have supplied a folder with all the local information you may need. To include leaflets. Maps and walks that may be of interest to you or your four legged friends. We have also made recommendations as to the best places to eat out.

Further details outdoors

We have a lovely garden which is private. With a lawned area. Patio with seating, ideal for those summer evening BBQ's , edged by pretty plants, shrubs and trees , it attracts plenty of wildlife activity. Keep the birds fed and they will provide hours of entertainment. We also are visited by the local deer , who bring their babies to feed in the nearby field.

Close by is the Tormore distillery which was built in the 1950's and the property along with the others were purpose built for the workers. The distillery is very attractive with white frontage, fountain and landscaped gardens. Across from the houses is access to the Speyside way. Where you could lose yourself in the open country.

The Aviemore and the Cairngorms region

The Highlands is a beautiful area of Scotland with amazing scenary. The cottage is on the edges of the Cairngorms National park which is full of wildlife , and has a variety of habitats and environments, with the mountain central to this. It is not just for the adrenaline junkies, as one can use the mountain railway to gain access , with plenty to keep you occupied at the summit. North is the coastline with lovely beaches on the Moray coast , which is also a haven for dolphin spotting.

There is a lot to do locally which will make your stay fly by. On the Malt Whiskey Trail - www.maltwhiskytrail.com. There are lots of walks , climbing the Cairngorms, forests around Loch Morlich and the Glenmore Forest Park are lovely locations. You can fish on the River Spey. If you are into history there is the Highland Folk museum at Kingussie. Or take a trip in the Strathspey Steam Railway, with panoramic views of the mountains. Or alternatively , you could take a look at Ruthven barracks, the location where 3000 Jacobites assembled after their defeat at Culloden in 1746. There are also many Castle locally , and many event events take place throughout the year, including : Siberian Dog Sled Ralley, Aviemore and Cairngorm Walking and Mountain Festival. Tomintoul, Grantown on Spey and Newtonmore Highland Ganes. Annual Porridge Making Championships, Carrbridge.

Five minutes away is a small shop with basic provisions. Grantown is a small drive away , with plenty of shops , pubs and restaurants and a fantastic curry house.

“lovely place”

lovely place and area, with lovely views. ideally situated for the whiskey trail area, parking behind the property up the lane, as road out front is narrow had all things you might need i.e. washing machine tumble dryer freezer etc one draw back is only 1 bathroom so if 5 or 6 people would be a bit of a queue.
