The Paphos District
Cyprus is a jewel in the Mediterranean crown and is often referred to as " the forgotten pearl". Beautiful, crystal clear waters, captivating landscapes and scenery, coupled with its attractive year round climate, make Cyprus a very tempting holiday. It is the ideal place to relax or explore for the annual holiday, a long winter break or just to unwind for a stress-free week. English is widely spoken, driving is on the left, electricity is 240V using 3-pin plugs and not forgetting of course an average of 340 days of sunshine each year. Paphos is a year round holiday resort, and an ideal base for visiting all parts of the island. The winter months are just as popular as the summer. What more could you ask for!Hospitable and friendly people are what you will find on the Island of Cyprus. From rural villages surrounding Paphos down to the harbour with its ancient fort and charming restaurants and bars, you will receive a warm welcome and the opportunity to sample some of the finest cuisine in the World. Share a Meze in Cyprus, and you have tasted the true flavours of the Island, this meal offers you a selection of many Cypriot dishes, sometimes up to 30, so an ideal, and certainly filling, way to try all the different options.Paphos (or Pafos) is one of the most beautiful and ancient towns of Cyprus, positively teeming with history which dates back thousands of years. Today's Paphos is a beautiful fishing town, but in Hellenistic and Roman times it was the capital of Cyprus. Cyprus is famous as the birth place of the goddess Aphrodite, Venus in Roman mythology. She is known as the Ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty. Legend says that she emerged from the sea at Aphrodite's Rock in a surge of sea foam. Still under the spell of the mythical Goddess Aphrodite, the area, retaining her magic, welcomes its visitors with its majestic landscape, lovely coastline, historic treasures and delightful villages where tradition is still a way of life. It combines a cosmopolitan holiday resort, spectacular countryside and historical sites, with the choice for a quiet relaxing holiday or a mixture of sightseeing and excellent night-life.Paphos has something for everyone. A wide variety of restaurants, bars and night clubs, historical places of interest, golf courses nearby, beaches and water sports, and a really friendly laid back atmosphere. There are lots for every family member to do around Paphos and further afield, but mainly people coming to the town just want to soak up the atmosphere of the old town, the beautiful harbour area with its mediaeval fort and the House of Dionysus, with its beautiful mosaics. As well as the main areas of old Paphos town and Kato Paphos, Coral Bay to the west of the town, boasts a lovely sandy beach with friendly and lively restaurants and bars, close by is the enchanting small fishing hamlet of St Georges Bay where you can taste the most succulent freshly caught fish on the Island. The beautiful resorts of Polis, Latchi and Pissouri are all within driving distance. A little further out the Troodos mountains provides the surroundings of stunning snow topped mountains looking down on the glistening coastal bay. Skiing in Cyprus is a well kept secret, you can ski from the beginning of January to the end of March. It really is possible to ski in the mountains and swim in the sea on the same day.

“Lovely chill out holiday!”
Apartment was very clean and comfortable, everything you could need, including proper pillows! We felt it was probably in the best part of the complex, up high so there was a nice breeze and not directly overlooked. Complex was quiet, clean and well looked after, no problem with sunbeds or umbrellas and a nice jacuzzi to relax in. I would recommend getting a car as it's quite a walk to the harbour where there's a lot of bars and restaurants but there are also lots on the main road just down from the apartment so up to you. If you are holidaying with young children you may want to take some DVDs as the satelilte TV wasn't working. Hilary was very helpful and we would definitely recommend her apartment at Royal Seacrest.
Thank you for such a good response. We wanted it to feel 'home from home' so included items we would want if we were staying there.
“The best apartment we have stayed in!!!!”
We have stayed in this apartment twice and we have had the most amazing holidays ever. we have been to Paphos 6 times, but without a shadow of a doubt the Royal Sea Crest is the best. This apartment has amazing views and is close to the numerous bars and restaurants. We are looking to book for 2013 and this apartment is top of the list.
What can we say except thank you for a brilliant review. Hope to see you again soon.
