Dorchester, with its many and varied eating places is only fifteen minutes drive away. There is a well stocked Londis supermarket and post office in Puddletown, 3km away and another one in Bere Regis, 5km distant. “Cosy and convenient”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2016

The cottage had all necessary for a good stay. The owners had thought of everything, and left us little notes to answer any common queries. Personally, the only thing I missed was a blind or curtains in, kitchen and bathroom, whose windows overlooked house across the road. The owners of that house chose our week to noisily hack off the outside render, all done now. Not the owner of garden cottage's fault! The cottage was an ideal place from which to explore the area, with a convenient shop/PO/butcher in next village which sold everything. Athelhampton house was a wonderful place to see, and very welcoming-excellent proper afternoon tea. The area has some very good eating places-recommend Martyrs Inn, and especially Blue Vinney-inventive menu there. The local church congregation we visited in a service and a coffee morning made us very welcome. We felt rested after our week in Garden cottage, and would commend it to anyone needing a cosy convenient place to stay, set in a lovely garden with parking next to the front door.

Thanks for your very positive review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay despite the renovations across the road which as you say were beyond our control.

“Lovely little cottage”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2016

Very comfortable and very we'll equipped cottage. The village very quite with just a local pub very short walk away there is no local shop but a Londis couple of miles down the road there was no cash machine nearby that we could see. Everywhere is close to drive to we found some lovely walks nearby and corfe was a lovely place to visit. There are plenty of booklets in the cottage of places to go and visit. We were lucky the weather was great made such a difference for visiting the beaches etc. The driveway into cottage was tight wouldn't cope with a large vehicle but parking on road would b ok the owner was very welcoming all in all we really enjoyed our stay.

Thankyou for your very positive and constructive review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. As you say, most of Dorset's attractions are within easy reach of the cottage.
