“Tobermory”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2018

The accommodation is very central to Tobermory although up a steep hill. The accommodation is well presented and equipped with lots of space and a lovely conservatory. A lovely touch was leaving a small welcome gift. The views from the conservatory are stunning over the bay. The cost of the heating and lighting is extra, however even in a cold Easter this did not amount to much. James, although we did not meet him, responded quickly to any queries we had prior to our arrival. Would happily used the cabin again.

Owner's reply: Thanks for this; very pleased you were ...pleased! James

“Perfect cottage, perfect location.”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2017

Island cabins at Tobermory is a very comfortable and cosy cottage that is exceptionally well equipped. The kitchen has every piece of crockery and accessory that you would ever need to cook from a large meal for 6-8 people to a quick snack. Not only did the cottage cater for the human elements but it also catered for our feathered friends as it had a bird feeder with wild bird seed! The bedrooms had adequate storage facilities in the form of wardrobe's and chests of drawers. The lounge and the large conservatory both had sofas and dinning facilities which gave you the option of sitting or eating in either area. The bathroom had both a bath and shower facility (shower over the bath) and was a fair size and very clean. The overall cleanliness of the property was good and easy to maintain. The view from the conservatory and the lounge over the sea and the harbour was great and would be even better in the winter when the surrounding trees and bushes have lost their leaves. Sitting in the conservatory in the morning and evening watching the birds was an absolute joy and not to be missed. The carport was also a bonus as it allows you to pack the car with both family and possessions for the day without getting wet! Overall Island cottage was very good value for money, cosy, comfortable and spacious and I would highly recommend it to others. Tips: The Tobermory bakery is a must for tea, coffee and cake (we didn't try anything else but there is a lunch menu too) especially the Banoffee pie and scones and it is very reasonably priced. Tobermory itself is certainly the "hub" of the island with a plethora of pubs, eating establishments and faclities but you also need to see the rest of the island as there are magnificent beaches, great walks and easy access to other islands ie. Ulva. Iona and Staffa that are well worth a visit.
